INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

My little Polish is on his feet now and starting to eat on his own.

This is how his head was. In this one he's sitting on his butt, but usually fell on over on his back and couldn't get up.

These are 3 silkies that my blue hen hatched about 10 days ago. None of them are actually hers; she was so determined to brood that I gave her 4 eggs.

These are the other chicks that hatched with the Polish. I put 60 eggs in the incubator today; already have about 20 due to hatch next weekend.

I haven't kept up.

But I'm reading whenever I can! I thought the Americana, Araucana, EE discussion was interesting. I have 2 that were sold at the hatchery as Aracauna then it said, "Americana Line". I think I've just decided to not get technical on all that and just enjoy the blue eggs!

I'm hoping to put in a few Cream Legbars this summer and if they do well, won't do the Americanas (or whatever they are) again. I love that the Cream Legbars are sex identifiable at birth and not a hybrid. And they're very pretty birds!

My Swedish flower hens are growing up! 9 Weeks:

Black

Blue

Orange

White (ya think this is a "guy")

And a family photo...mom's still with them! (One was out of camera range.)

I have legbar eggs coming to me on Monday! I can't wait. I also have araucana eggs going into lockdown on Monday and Ameraucana going into lockdown on Wednesday. Not this Monday, but the following I have EE chicks being shipped from Meyers. So many blue/green egg layers! After placing the order through Meyers last November, I decided to try hatching my own chicks. So ill probably just sell the EE.
