INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I wonder why people are always getting rid of those charcoal grills? Must've gotten new propane ones ya suppose? :)

Well played sir! But I think its more likely that when people live, they'd rather buy a new one than move an old one. Also sometimes they get left out in the rain, and sold for being a bit rusty.

Hello fellow Indiana chicken loving friends! The chicken god has smiled upon me and blessed us with a broody that went to hatch. 2 chicks hatched today with 4 still in process. I'm considering moving her and the chicks to a brooder post-hatch. Here's what I put together so far. Thoughts/suggestions please???

Thank you!

Lol you posted that didn't you.

Ha!  That's awesome!  If I could sell ashes for 15.00/gallon, I'd quit my day job!

You guys better move fast I errr I mean they are probably going to sell out of that stuff pretty fast... I heard it's not even from treated lumber or charcoal grills and hoosiercheetah if there is enough of a response to their ad I'm sure they could contract you for regional distribution...

Nice video. Things for you to think about would be an access point for feeding and watering. Maybe roosting of the other chickens getting poo in either the food or water.
We had something similar for a while to help little chicks meet older chicks. Ours had a top opening to lower down food and water. It was easy as the deep litter did not get in the way. It was hard to catch the chicks. Our breeding pen this past winter had the door on the long side. It was not easy to get open with litter in the way and the bending down to had the water and food was a bit awkward. Still getting the chickens out was better with that door.

No real answers, just thoughts for you to think about with your own preferences. Overall I think you have a very nice setup.
