INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Just wanted to put out a quick post to say that I will be away from the forum for at least the next couple of weeks and possibly longer. I don't think I'll be keeping up with posts or going back to catch up.

So..
If anyone wants to get hold of me, please send a PM.

Do you need any kind of ID for that discount? All my DH has is his dd-214 (I think that's what it's called).

I have a Veteran's id that the VA hospital gave me - if your husband goes there, I think they should be able to issue him one, but I got mine years ago, so I don't honestly know if they still use them. I'll try to find out; mine could be replaced anyway; it's getting pretty ratty.

I think they will also accept a 214. Here's the policy site. The vet's discount part is way down at the bottom of the page:

Hope you are doing something fun! I will be off pretty much too for a week and a half or so, I'll catch snippets of internet here and there when I can.

Thanks. Looks like they only do it on holidays now.

He's never used a VA hospital so he'd have to bring his 214. Oh, well. No biggie.

One of the folks on the board PMed me that you could google discount codes for them, so you can buy online and pick up in store. I will probably do that!

I get itchy when I clean out the brooder, and I have been hit & miss about wearing a mask. Sometimes I wish I had. I'm functional now, though. It is really amazing how much dust they create. When they're into the coop we will have to take the leaf blower to the garage to get all their mess out, for sure!

But, yeah...between the actual allergic reaction and the recovery time, I'm about a month behind schedule and kind of stressing, so I haven't been on BYC very much!

Your Bonbon and babies look very happy.

For any who saw Oprah's photos yesterday...watched her chest bump the other girls today while we had them out in the yard in their little temporary free ranging pen. She is definitely iffy.

DH doesn't want to keep her if she's a Stedman. I asked him if he would be okay with giving her away...even if someone ate her. It appears we are at an impasse. I get to keep her as long as no one else turns into a roo. I really hope I'm wrong about her possible cockerel nature. I hope she is just a bossy pullet. And that weird noise I hear her making...I really hope it doesn't turn into a crow.

Off to order from Lowe's! Hopefully we'll make some progress today on the coop.

Have a great day, all!

They will only accept the dd214 on the 3 holidays. I don't understand why, but that's the policy corporate passed down to store level.

Anyone around the Fort Wayne area have any day old chicks? I have a few broody hens and their eggs aren't hatching.
