INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I need some broody advice. I've got aboard that's been broody for about a week. I got some eggs to put under her and tried to move her to her own space but she freaked out and wouldn't sit on the new nest :( I don't mind leaving her in the main coop, it'll give me a reason to get the rest of my nest boxes built, BUT she likes to play musical boxes. What would you all do?

Play some music! Just kidding. I'm not sure what you can do other than each time she moves, move the eggs with her. Maybe someone on here has much better advise

Build some sort of contraption over the nesting box so that she can only get out when you take off the cover. I personally would make a wore frame so se could still see and not feel trapped

Wow! Thanks for sharing the pics! I can't believe how large the dogs are, are they almost the size of St. Bernard or larger? Love that they hang with the goats. Glad to hear they are going okay after everything that just happened. Hope your leg is on the mend too. :)
Buddy the xl one is 130 lbs or more, and Bear the smaller of the 2 is 110 lbs they are very close to St. Bernard sz I have seen
Buddy next to one in RK and I couldn't tell any difference in sz.
Hanging with the goats and chickens is their job and they seem to like it, Buddy loves his goats, and they are HIS goats, just ask him he will tell you so... lol

Heck yeah you are #1! Great looking feet and top knot. LOL I am excited to take pics this weekend cause the chicks are noticeably different than day 1 pics.
yes they all are growing so fast. I miss mine being so little but I'm excited every time I get a new egg...

Happy Birthday!!

need a happy Birthday smiley..

We've got a Great Pyrenees too, Darwin. He's 140 pounds of adorable fluff. And we've got a boxer/mastiff mix (100 lbs, Ziva), a schnauzer (40 lbs, Bismark), and a yorkiepoo (10lbs, Abbie). Plus two cats (10lbs each, Mickey and Mercy), and a cockatiel (no idea what he weighs, Ralph). I'll post photos next time I'm on my laptop. It's amazing how animals can bring your mood up after a bad day.
My critters always make my day better.

@jchny2000 I'm praying for you and your father tonight as well as the rest of your family. I hope he improves.
I'm sure there are others on here as well thinking of you and your family.

Took the children out to see a 50 minute play of Mulan today. All of them were quiet and well behaved. I was very impressed. And my two oldest really seamed to enjoy it. Art on their level it was a great time.
We are thinking of @jchny2000 and family as well.

I was thinking about putting some chicken wire over the box. That way the other hens can't get in either, I think they kick her out sometimes. There's already a curtain over the boxes.

If she has started to brood again, I doubt she will continue to care for the chick no matter what you do.  Is she completely ignoring her?  For mine, pretty much once they started to lay again, they abandoned their chicks.

The chick still cuddles under her at night but she (Diamond) doesn't try t protect th chick anymore nor is she staying near it at all during the day.

Agreed X2

Well I still have one hen sitting faithfully, has been for 5 days. The other will get off nest the whole time I do chores but is on any other time and they eggs always feel warm, do I think she knows what she is doing. At least one is showing a lot of hope.

Not looking forward to tomorrow or Sunday. I have to give chickens bathes......again :(. Why can't they just magically stay clean for shows?
