came home to 4 baby chicks! All 4 hatched! One was stilla bit wet. Once that one is fuzzy, I'll move them all to the brooder

yay for home made incubators!

Congrats!!! So you got a 100% hatch rate right? That is awesome for it being your first hatch. Love the homemade bators, I get better hatch rates with them.

Just starting to catch up, busy day... Meet Paddy, my 1st ever Chinese gosling hatched just a few minutes ago!
Strong little baby, I am so excited!
Be back in a bit waiting to see who is next!

older girls doing well their first 24 hours in the coop,eating drinking and pooping.they seem to not be sure of the latched door when i walk in,kinda freaks them out. That dang chicken math or empty brooder my husband claims- went to rual king for a hose reel came out with six more chick!!(slapping hand on forehead) 2 more EE,2 polish,and two barred rocks. My flock is now 27! I am done,but least i have the variety i wanted so that lil brooder i emptied and cleaned yesterday is filled again

i asked the cashier when they would stop selling chicks- she kinda looked at me funny

- and said i guess whenever they sell them all. My husband snickered and said good lord we are in trouble( i caught him awwwing over the polish babies cute lil poofs on top of their heads so he is not fooling me)

Too funny...my DBF who swears he "hates" the chickens talked ME into getting the Top Hat Special from Murray McMurray....then he had to remove the "only 50 chickens" rule since 15 of them are now HIS Yay for no limit....muuuuhahahahah

Cluck~ at day 7 I removed 4 eggs that stopped growing at day one or two or didn't start at all. Yeah, pretty good for a home made one. Before I set more, I want to build one of the turners. Atleast to pull it back and forth from a pole through the side of the bator, so I dont have to open and touch them so often. I have dowel rods and wood, so Icould do it today if I was motivated. So much to do, don't know where to start. I could sure use your nesting!

Critterwisper- that kinda sounds like us!! We went to RK to get screen for the garage brooder and chick feed. So of course I'm coking out the new babies. And my DH looks at me and says" oMG, you have room for more now!!!!" I told him no but I may have lied!
