INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I have been working my guts out trying to get ready for winter as I have so many pens this year ( sometimes chicken math really sucks!!!! ) so I am too tired most nights to get on an do any reading, but it is raining today.... Didn't think I was ever going to get caught up, but I did...

these are pics of when she first got here for those that may have missed it.

the rest of the pic's don't want to load. Guess it's telling me enough is enough... lol
What color would you consider your EE rooster to be, I have one that resembles yours and was just wondering. I got mine at Rural King this last spring in the "bargin bin" and he has just turned out so pretty, like yours.

Maybe trade services. They watch your chickens and in return you help them weed a garden for a month or watch their home when they leave.
Or try to add up the gas and pay that much. Too much and your friend might be offended that you are not accepting their offer of helping another friend.

I really do not have a clue, multi..... lol I just call him Awesome. Sorry I couldn't help ya.

What would you pay if you only had 9 chickens? (Do they stay at your house or just come over a couple times a day...)
They stay at my place. If I only had the chickens and they had to drive ( depending on how far yours have to drive ) mine are just 5 miles from me. I would offer 30 but I'm a cheep butt tight woad I'm told.... lol

I have a turkey poult..roughly 4 mos old and I've seen it just laying around so I gathered it up and put it in the hospital pen. I put corid in the water as it seems to have started the last rain we got. First time turkey owner. Not sure what to think. I did see it poo just before I took it in. Was very slimey greenish in color where normally it would be white. Granted all they want to do is eat grass when free ranging but everyone else has nice solid poo. ??

Looking for a pullet in the Indianapolis/Noblesville area, any breed. We just sent our rooster to my father in law's farm and we don't want him to be lonely, lol.

I'm not sure but my first recommendation is always to increase protein. Liver, eggs, milk soaked bread, cheese, ....
I lost a turkey poult that was about the same age in the last big night time storm. I thought we had them all up but one was out of the coop and I think it got too cold. Silly I know but the storm was a hard fast very wet rain.

SURVEY.... Need advice!

What do you all think is a reasonable pay for someone taking care of your chickens while you're gone?

Specifically, this is an adult. He will have to drive over 2x a day. Morning: Put out feed and be sure water is fresh. Evening: Be sure everyone is in and doors closed. Gather eggs. Put feed out if needed.

Would you pay by the day?
Would you pay by the "job" (as in a flat price for a week or weekend?)
HOW MUCH????

Suppose my fair pay ideas would depend on how far they have to drive. I would consider no less that $20 per day to drive over and feed and check on any one type of animal.
We have several types of animals, and most are special needs. We pay $100 per day, unless something needs intensive care (shots, wound cleaning, etc.), then it goes up from there.
