new babies.

Loving all the chick pictures, how awesome for all of you! I have about 30 chicks in the brooder so far. All are sold, and several quail available too. Please feel free to share pictures, we love them!

If I don't perk up soon, it'll be time to go to a hospital. Suddenly feeling very cold, sloshy, dizzy, sitting up is really difficult. No insurance = I hate doctors. Please be praying. Had planned to pick up pheasants Wednesday, but I'm thinking that might not happen, after all.

here's our "Elvis" (in with the leghorn girls to make sapphires in the near future):

He definitely looks like a happy crower—great picture!

@Hholly ~ I bet your flock is enjoying that nice spring green grass!
I have around 30 in lock down and just can't sleep either. Just went out to check on piglets, and peeked in on my eggs in the incubators too. My peacock screamed an alert at me since I had a bathrobe on instead of overalls, LOL!
Hahahaha!! That's hilarious! I saw this online—I wonder what he'd do if you were wearing this robe...

@jchny2000 ~ Congrats on new piglets! You have a lot of exciting spring babies.

The two male Bielefelder chicks are ready to go, too. They hatched Wednesday/Thursday. Two for $5 or I'll throw one in free with the purchase of two lavender Orp chicks. I'm sure I'll have Biele pullets later on.

PM me if interested!

Oh, I am dying for them!! As soon as I have a hot enough day to dry everything afterwards, I will use my Virkon S to disinfect the coops, deck, garage, etc. Then I'm going to add construction sand and small pebbles instead of dusty deep litter. Hopefully, in a few weeks I can get a Lavender Orp and English Cuckoo Orp, a Bielefelder, —from you and Janet, and a Cochin from @ellymayRans . I am yearning for a couple of Silkies, too!
My remaining five hens have been doing well, and we are going to start eating their eggs again after having to pitch eggs from meds.

@dennislambert79 Adorable Silkies! This one of yours looks like my remaining Silkie, a blue hen named Smalty.

Hey everyone, Happy Easter, figured I'd check in. We don't have a lot of data on our phones, so I can't be on a lot. I moved our chicks out to the cage in the coop next to the big girls. Yesterday it was so nice, my daughter and I carried a couple out to the yard and played with them. The big girls were VERY interested in them. Today is my birthday, the only things I want is to get started on my movable coop, but I still need to get with my dad to get the wood he has stored at another house. Oh well, rainy anyway. kids don't have school today, we'll find something to do.
Happy Birthday!!!

That is funny! I sure hope Oliver learns to leave Waddle alone. Chooks are supposed to be able to distinguish hawks from geese overhead. None of mine alert for geese. I think it's good thing that he kills wild birds in the chicken space. It may subject him to more possible disease, but spare the rest of your flock. I suspect his hypervigilance is due to his Ameracauna mom. She is very, very smart but probably probably a bit paranoid herself.

Oliver always patrolled even as a young cockerel, like he had a cob up his rear! I'm not surprised that he's very protective.
He is a really good boy I hope he lives to an ripe old age with us, but the killing wild birds scares me also. He makes me giggle when he warns the yard about the geese. Blackbeard and Bob look around but cant seem to find what he is talking about... it's funny. I don't mind it at all.

Mark eggs with marker or pencil ?
Just wondering what to use to mark the dates.

Thanks
I use a pencil.

I hope you get to feeling better soon, it's spring time, your supposed to be shaking off the winter fog.
