Anyone looking for Polish Chicks?
I am supposed to pick up 6 Polish chicks this week and next from Agrarian. We are dealing with some financial stuff and sadly I really can't afford them right now!
This week - April 12, I am supposed to pick up 2 Buff Laced Polish and 2 White Crested Blue (I special ordered the white crested blue)
Next week - April 19 I am supposed to pick up 2 Gold Laced
They are sexed pullets.

Is anyone interested in taking over all or part of my order
Please PM me and I will call Agrarian and give them your info. Very sad to have to do this.  Something happens to my dream of owning Polish every year! The one bird I wanted more than any other from the very start of my chicken journey. SIGH! :hit

Pictures below are from Meyer's website, where the chicks originate: https://www.meyerhatchery.com/productlist.a5w?grd_prods_S_descriptio=polish

Has anyone reached out for the Polish chick's?
My name is Angel, I live in Peru, Indiana. I don't know what part of the state your in, but. I would like to give a few of them a home.

Anyone in southern IN not too far from Louisville have any or know who I can get some silkies or bantam Cochins from? I don't really want to buy from TSC or RK.

I'm not too close but I am more central. Martinsville.
I raise both and have Blue, black and partridge Silkies as well as black and Mille Fleur bantam Cochins. I don't have any chicks ATM but can hatch them if you'd want them.

My black Cochin are under a frizzled roo so there's the potential for frizzled.
I also have black frizzled blue egg layer hen if you'd have any interest there.
Mine are not hatchery stock either.

Feel free to PM me if you want some.

This has NOTHING to do with chickens, but had to share cause this is sooo cool!

Late Sat.night, 10 PM I got a call from a friend. Feed The Hungry (a child relief/sponsorship program) was in desperate need of volunteers to work the Toby Mac concert last night in Indy. Would we be willing to help? We would get to see part of the concert for free. Sure, we can help.

WOW! We ended up on the floor, at a table right by the part of the stage that comes out into the middle of the floor. We were right with the crew- who were so funny - gave their own show! It was the last night of the tour, so everyone was giving their all, and playing pranks. Got to hear a bunch of amazing Christian Contemporary artists, not just Toby Mac but Mandisa, Matt Maher, Hollyn, Ryan Stevenson... It was AMAZING! And we got to help a fantastic relief organization get sponsors. We basically had floor seats for the show for FREE!

SO much fun, so exhausted today though!

Good Morning everyone!!!! Hope everybody had a great weekend. My DH used his whole weekend to make my home life easier. He got six cubic yards of garden soil and built two 8x8 raised garden beds in the backyard and a 30x 3 raised planter in the front yard across the front of the house...then he installed an outdoor water spigot so I won't have to water the garden and the chickens by hand every day! Next weekend he will finish the coop as the babies are growing bigger by the day! I do have a question though...someone else got a light brahma out of the leghorn bin at TSC. Whoever it was is yours not growing either? my others have almost doubled in size this week and little Maggie is eating drinking and pooping, but she is considerably smaller. I am almost wondering if she is a banty not LF! It doesn't matter to me either way but just curious...I also suspect that my Barred Rock is a roo...also not a big deal...we will see!

Hey Northern Indiana folks...or anyone that wants to drive this way.... (I'm near South Bend)

I will be purchasing some Fertrel Nutribalancer (for organic) in the next week or so. The bag is enough to make a ton of food so I don't need the whole bag as I won't go through it quick enough to keep it fresh.

If anyone is interested in splitting a bag, or buying some of it by the lb., please send me a PM and I can give you details on current prices.

FERTREL NUTRIBALANCER is the mineral mix you would add to your feed if you mix your own.

Hi! That was me! I got two mystery chicks and ours are doing great. I've had other times that I've noticed a chick just doesn't grow as fast. We lost one, a silver laced Wyandotte. But the rest seem to start growing again later. I'm not sure what they are but a majority said brahma. Do they make the brahma smaller in Bantam sized too? I'll try to get some pictures tonight for you :) after I'm done runnning the kids around here there and everywhere!!!

@Delawaremommy

Edited to add it sounds like your hubby spoils you too :)

he does spoil me and i spoil him also!!! he is my greatest gift! yes they have banty brahmas and like I said as long as she (we named her Maggie as the others are Marge, Lisa, Patty, and Selma...the Simpson women!) is healthy I'm not picky...so I will watch and wait but I'm impatient....and learned this weekend I also have the attention span of a botfly!!!
I will get pics too and we can compare notes on the mystery that takes about 6 weeks to solve continues...

OK so here's our mystery blue orp from Oopsie.
Note: This blue chick came from a lav orp rooster x Oopsie / our cream colored orp that was supposed to be a mauve. Since a blue hatched, we know that our Oopsie is a mauve orp carrying some white genes).

It's now 5.5 weeks.
Sometimes I think, "Darn another cockerel!"
Other times I think, " She's such a pretty girl!"

Those wattles are way too pink for my liking, but the comb is so tiny. Mine always have huge headgear by 4-5 weeks, and this chick has barely a bump. I have no idea its gender.

I really hope I don't have to wait until it lays an egg or crows!

Any guesses?
