INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

@pipdzipdnreadytogo
When you get birds from Meyers, do you drive over and pick up or do you have them shipped?

We drive over. It's just worth it to me for the peace of mind. Granted, I ordered through Sand Hill last year and didn't have too much trouble with shipped chicks (I believe there were 23 chicks because some didn't hatch, and only 1 DOA), but I much prefer to pick them up when I can, especially since my orders through Meyers are generally smaller than Sand Hill's 25 chick minimum.

A question for those who have cats: we currently have a young cat, an American Bobtail and looking for a buddy for him, a Manx or Manx mix. If choosing a grown cat are there ways to tell beforehand if the two will get along? Should they have similar personalities, or could one be more laid back than the other?

When we introduced ours we let them see eachother through a gate and gave the cat who had been there free run while the other had only the room. A week or so of this and with many places to hide/escape eachother, ours have seemed to like eachother. though like humans, they dont always get along.
