Does anyone have a favorite place or pattern for hen saddles? Of the 6 roosters and 2 hens that I rescued last week, I have 5 roos and one hen left. They have free-ranged all of their lives (about a year) but it only took a week for a raccoon to eat them at my house. My husband saw it as it took them both away. Not sure how it managed two at the same time, but there you go. The hen that is left is the one missing most of its feathers, so I'd like to protect her enough to get them back. My son was really broken up about losing the chickens, so we will have to figure out something else until the coop is ready. I think it can be ready to inhabit by the end of the weekend if we work hard and have good weather.
