Oh yeah cluckacres! So many neat colors, any chance there's a frizzle in there?

I have no clue yet. I havnt even seen my frizzle try to mate. He needs more hens his size.

I bought a homemade cabinet style from rsutr101 little over a week ago and love it! Holds temps and humidity very well. I'm making a new door for it with a window so I can watch eggs turn? I know sounds pathetic lol. But overall very happy and will be building another one sometime to use as a hatcher.

Do you have any pics of it? I would like to build one of those as well.

I just candled all the eggs in my other incubator and well 65 are fertile with veining. only had to remove i think 8 eggs.

The ones that is hatching now are a mix from my flock. Australorps, Americaunas, Barred Rock, 1 cochin, Buff orpington, Welsumer mix, I have a few maran in there but they havnt hatched yet.

The eggs in the other bator are a mystery hatch. The guy i got the eggs from gave me a list of what he has but he had no idea what each was. I guess none of them are pure breed he doesnt like pure breed.

This is the message he sent me:

so ive got ,mixed , barrs , amerconna , aruconna , welsumers ,micorias ,seramas ,buffs ,austrolporps , polands , silkies ,pekin ,salmons ,etc , and about just about any / every breed you can imagine ,,,


Now out of that list I didnt see any small eggs so i dont think there is any silkies in it. He did tell me tho that there could be duck eggs mixed in. I think there is some Pekin.

Thats going to be a pretty varied mix of birds, bet the colors will be amazing! Mixes also usually produce strong hardy birds. My daughter just had to have ducks..

with school and work, she hasn't found time for them once they grew up. I do wish I had another breed of duck, Muscovies don't "quack" they hisss and "haaaa haaaaa", my drake isn't much of a go getter either, he only likes 1 hen and there's 3

. The drake, Stanley is a chocolate, his chosen duck is a chocolate barred named Donald

I call her Spazz. I have since learned they are a cousin of the duck species and can't cross other breeds like pekin or mallard for a fertile offspring. The other 2 are a pied black n white and a black barred, Huey and Squawk. Once i get my "want list" done, i may add some pekin, or the 300 hybrid i keep seeing on other threads.

I so love the babies! But i like the eggs the most, and the beautiful adult feathering. I am really pleased with the roosters so far too, they are just lovely to look at. my GLW follows me everywhere.
