INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

funny thing about watching the chicks my cat and dog like watching them too lol just gotta watch my cat dont want her killing any
My little dog is afraid of any of the birds. She is a "chug" - mix Chihuahua and pug. She is really my DH's dog. I don't have house cats now after my lil Smokey passed at 19 years old, but i let all the strays stay and spay them. I let them live in our barn. They all stay far away from my birds. I used to only keep large dogs, like English mastiff, German Shepard and Rottweiler but they are dangerous for my parents, they would surely knock them down. Both are late 70s, and Dad will not stop trying to play with the big dogs.

I was just too worried they would fall and break a bone so we adopted a small dog this time

I really miss my Rottie, Rommel. My very best friend, he passed suddenly at 9 years old with bone cancer. After I lost Rommel and Smokey Its been very hard to become attached to another dog or cat i guess

Does everyone here hatch their eggs in incubators? Does anyone let mama hen hatch them? I am curious as to the hatch rate between the two methods. Anyone know?

I hatch all mine in an incubator. I put eggs in every wednesday. I don't use hens as I want them to keep laying, not wait a month or 2 while they hatch and raise chicks. I also have alot more hatch in the incubator, I'd have to have hundreds of hens just to hatch.. LOL !!

We have 3 small dogs for the first time all rescues. . I personally like the medium size dogs.

I got my first 2 eggs. Both from my hatchery RIR birds. So my older game chickens from Craigslist are still not laying. These eggs are small and medium. My question is what is the best way to clean the eggs before I use them or eventually store them when I start getting more eggs.
