I was just sitting here thinking about what i could use as a motor for my egg turner for my new incubator. Then "light bulb" I had a perfect idea. I had some old car window motors sitting around. So i am going to rig this to fit in my incubator and turn my eggs. Here is a pic. Im so

!!! I'm trying to build this incubator without really having to spend any money on it. As some of you already know i LOVE to re-purpose!!!

Wow, good idea! bet there is a way to make that work!

Yea it fits pretty good in my cabinet as well so thats a big plus.

I had to try to introduce Rebel today, of course it did not go well at all. I put him in my Pug, Sadie's' dog run where she can go outside safely, and called the flock over. the fence is 6' high, so i knew we were safe. My hens were even after him, Red, my GLW Roo just ignored him at first. Rebel was talking to the hens because i put scratch out... Then, the boys "attacked" each other through the fence, it was awful. Never seen that aggression out of either of them, hackles were flared and both pecking each other! I had to scoop Rebel up and take him back to the breezeway. UGH I am real concerned they would hurt each other. Convinced that Rebel is a JG, he is much, much bigger than Red, who is a fully grown wyandotte, but sure isn't nearly as vengeful. Any suggestion is welcome I really want to integrate him to the "egg" flock. I am afraid he will need a separate coop to keep them from harming each other. He is just a beautiful sweet rooster, I don't want to waste his personality and lovely color, so I will be building, again

Woke up to my first chick out of its shell! I believe it's a blue araucana ( came out of a black, blue, splash egg). It looks like the yolk isn't completely absorbed yet, so we will see how it goes. Now waiting for the other dozen or so!

I have a dozen more in that hatching incubator and 19 in another bator that are two days behind.

Are you keeping them, selling them?

Keeping some, sell some. I don't need all the chicks lol. I still have 40+ eggs in the main incubator that will be going into lockdown next week. On the ones I want to start breeding groups of, I may wait to sell until I get a better idea of sex.
