Jchny~ I loved seeing the pictures. I want them!! Paddy is getting bigger. They all seem so sweet.

Thank you! Its going to be hard to part with any of the babies! Paddy will stay for sure, I have one due to hatch the 3rd (I see the gosling breathing and wiggling!!!

) And my DD's are already worried and fussing over the new baby so I guess that ones staying too

. But after that, omg we can't keep em all! I may still rehome Snowy, she is still very standoffish, just doesn't like Big G at all. She is more worried about being friendly with us and getting treats.

Oh, precious jchny! He is adorable. Weewee is cute too, looks like she'd be a good mommy.
Thank you! She is my favorite bird here. If I sit down on the ground to work on a fence, plant anything, she is in my lap. She won't share either and gets VERY angry if someone tries to share the spot!

She was sooooo tiny, and I spoiled her rotten when they were goslings, She caught up and has been top goose ever since. Just been a sweet girl from the day they came home.

Birdylady~ Great idea of using a screen room to let the young ones experience the outdoors safely. The Wyandottes' feathers are so prominent already. Very pretty assortment!

A HAWK STORY

I had heard how having crows nesting nearby was a good thing as they keep the hawks away. So every time I see crows I'm happy they're around.

Yesterday evening I was out burning some brush in the area that the chickens free-range so they could have a natural ash pit. As I was sitting there around 7p, I hear the crows cawing. No big deal, they always are cawing around there but this time the chickens all made a b-line for the hen house door, then stopped and all looked up.

I looked up and there was a single crow "escorting" a hawk out of the area. The crow chased it across to the next tree-line over, then circled back and went home. The hawk kept going! GOOD CROW!

Last fall I saw a hawk moving across the sky at an extremely fast pace. Then I looked behind it, and there was a murder of crows following behind - about 15 of them chasing it.

GOT TO LOVE THOSE CROWS!
Nice. I like seeing crows around also. I always love that description, ''a murder of crows''.

On a different subject, we made a lot of progress yesterday on the coop, we *may* be able to move the girls in today. Looks like another sunny day, after 11 AM. We took them out to it the first time last night, put them on the roost. It was getting dark, and they sure loved it out there, going to sleep. I think they all said, ''Finally, some darkness.'' Protested when we took them back in, I was going to put up a picture, but can't find the camera. Like I said, it was a furious build yesterday, and more today.

Birdlady, that is a nice assortment of chickens. We have some SLW and their feathers are looking better every day. Can't wait to get all 8 of our chickens outside in the coop, they have really starting squabbling in the small pens we have now.
