INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Quote: He is my fattest roo but not the most aggressive. I will make sure he gets plenty of food but he is not skinny by any means. Maybe he is just a fatty that will eat almost anything. I did give out salad greens as a treat today and he stayed away form the oyster shell.
Quote: I'm sure they can get in, but I don't think it is mice since I saw the roo eating it. I will try to check for signs of mice but it has been a while since I found any mouse dropping near the chicken area.

I just sold a flock of Wyandottes that had two roosters and I know that one would chase the other away from the feed. But in my case the bigger roo was the one that did the chasing.

So that was my best guess on your issue. Hope you get it figured out.

Had a new addition to my flock today. Lady needed to downsize so I was able to get them for free. 2 silkies roo and hen 4 months old, 2 pekin ducks around 2 months old i think, 3 rhode island red chicks.

awesome news! I keep hoping to hear from my Dad in laws friend. I am kinda in limbo till I know if i need room for those birds.

jchny2000: thanks for letting me know the thermometer/hygrometer is great! It makes me even more excited to get it. My incubator is working well right now. Holding really steady temps. I read a lot before making it and I was worried about using a lower element water heater thermostat. I figured I would have to drill some more holes into it to make it more sensitive. But I haven't and it's doing a great job!

Sorry about the font there... don't know what happened!
