Animallover~ I am allergic to the latex too. I use vinyl gloves. Even blowing up a kids ballon I feel tingly. It's not a good allergy to have b/c in an emergency if you can't tell them, then you can go into shock. Happened to me. Good thing you are watching out for him!

yea hes the only person i have so i have to look out for him i took care of him when a metal pole wenyt in his leg

Is there any one close to Bargersville that would want to show me how to clean a chicken? I had a bird mysteriously pass away today.

Jchny~ my silkie loves to eat! Always in the middle of the bowl (FF). I am just hoping it will be my broody. It loves to be held. It looks big compared to my other bantams??? Would that be part of being "smutt"? Maybe the hatchery was breeding other breeds to make them bigger? Idk

Haha, who knows? I don't care what they think, mine are adorable adorable lil fuzzballs! they are much bigger than the seabrights.

Well took some pics of the orpingtons tonight (as well as the single Swedish flower that hatched this week). I also went and picked up 2 more dozen eggs from the breeder. 5 candled bad. I think they had a hen sitting on a few and they started to develop. I also got to see their breeder birds. Wow! were they big and fluffy! There were 2 lav Roos and a lemon cuckoo over lav and buff hens. Depending if the roo was a single or double barred will determine how many lemon cuckoos I get out of these chicks. I'm thinking around 25% should be lemon cuckoos. I guess time will tell if I understood the genetics correctly.

They rescheduled the coming of the baby. Will be going in tonight at 8pm. We got up at 4am for nothing. And couldnt really get back to sleep because they wanted us to call every 2 hrs to see if we can get in.

I currently have about 35(15 1 yr olds in the coop) and 20 various baby chicks! Addicting for sure!

I love my lavender orps, what little sweeties! Very friendly, outgoing little birds. They are finally outside in their coop, doing very well so far. I have them in a lockable coop (shed) to be safe
