INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

My new babies out in the grass. They love it! They are molting a little still so they look a little scraggly.

I love our mutts! They are the hardiest healthiest chicks I have raised yet. Mine are BR/GLW cross, CX/GLW also. We will be hatching purebred GLW, BA and LO soon too. I also have 3 white chinese goslings available, if anyone's interested. Just send me a PM.
I am noticing, the BR cross males are coming out with a white dot on the heads. the girls have white "eyebrows"! interesting if it really is a sex link thing, will keep watching how this turns out..

I started my garden today. Got several potato plants in the ground. How many of you are starting your garden? Plus do any of you have gardens just for your flock?
I say I am going to...

Dandelions for jelly????

Yep dandelions for jelly. It tastes like honey. Dandelions are good for digestion as well as inflamation. You can eat every single part of it root to petal. Greens, salad, jelly, wine, tea & so on. I sell it at a farmer's market. I make corn cob jelly too lol It tastes like apple jelly. My great, great, great grandma's recipe.

I have tomatoes planted, peppers started inside that need planted. And a bunch of seed packets I just need to get up the energy to plant! I only have chicken wire around half the garden, so I don't know what's safe that they won't eat to nubs outside of the fence.

I am putting out a garden for my flocks. Also a garden big enough for us & surplus for market. Going to try my hand at herbs this year and a ton of calendula. It's main ingredient in the salve & soap I use on my daughter's Eczema.
