INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

i have 4 in the incubator....each put in a day a part

hope that doesn't effect the rest

I have always thought that the eggs can be collected on different days but they should be put in the bator at the same time.

The in-laws brought me the dog house yesterday. Of course they didn't realize that I was serious about wanting the lumber from the pile too... oh well. The great thing is it is bigger than I thought so there should be plenty of room. I'll just need a few cinder blocks for legs and some more hardware cloth and I can start building again.

Alright, the ground has been broken! My coop addition has officially begun!

makes it a lil harder. You have to try different methods to chose what works best for you.

Oh thqts awesome! yup about 1/2 hour away! We nearly moved there several tears ago, what a peaceful town, very nice.

I realize people have been talking about candeling(probably spelled that wrong).I have the hardest time candeling blue eggs. The only blue eggs I incubate are easter egger and ameraucana eggs. But out of all the eggs I incubate 95% are blue. So it seems like I have to wait forever to be able to see throught the egg shell. But I am also impatient lol. Speaking of blue eggs I have 12 BBS ameraucana eggs that are suppose to arrive tomorrow!!!

. And I had 15 more BBS ameraucana eggs shipped out wednesday so theyshould be arriving any day! Can't wait to have some more ameraucana chicks.

. Then they need to grow up really fast so that I can start breeding them. And showing some of them, depending on how well they look.

Exciting! good luck!

I nono some of you will have seen my post on the guinea forum but for those that don't hang out there I wanted to share a story of a very dedicated crazy guinea hen I have who has spread her crazy to another one of my guinea hens. So I had a guinea go missing. I figured she was a gonner bc of the amount of eggs that were being laid all over the yard. Never thought she could be sitting. But she was. And her clutch has to have 60 eggs if not more? But she don't care. Dog run her off twice she goes right back. She can't cover all the eggs at once she shifts herself to cover diffrent ones after awhile. Noticed today another guinea was missing. I thought maybe sitting? I was wrong b4. I looked in all their fav places that I no aout. No hen. Decided to wait and check to see if she roostes. While out doing evening rounds I find her. With the other sitting on the eggs the other can't cover. Idk if its normal but I think its hilarious. Lol wish I could share pics.

Thats too cute! My 2 girls are finally laying in the nest. The first week or so, they were everywhere! I waited til they picked a spot to check fertility, and now they are. So far, my pearl Quasey is miss nest guardian and I wear a glove with her. She has a pretty fierce peck! Be glad when breeding seasons over, she is my favorite of the 4. Usually she sits on my lap or shoulder.

I didn't get that lucky these guys are sitting along a fence row in some very annoyingly long grass that I can't cut now :/ lol I was worried about something getting them but the area they are in the only thing I could see trying it is a stray cat. But it would have to be 1 very desperate cat to try and take on now 2 protective guinea hens lol the 1st that started sitting is nice if I come with treats. I come empty handed and well I learned that lesson and don't any more lol I'm not yet sure how the other will act yet she just joined the setting party today lol. So I'm up to 2 bantams and 2 guineas on nests. 1 banty with 2 chicks 7 chicks in the brooder and I'm suppose to get turkey poults tomorrow :) I lurve my bbs. Lol

Speaking of turkey poults was it here someone was asking where to find some? I use my phone on here and it doesn't cooperate ever. I know I seen someone ask in a forum but can't find it again. Pm me if you were the 1 asking I will give you the number to the guy I got mine from last year and plan on getting more from tomorrow.

I just hatched some Royal Palm, wow, what a different poult than the BBW. They are sweet docile little things. So tiny! I have them in with a chinese gosling that just hatched too, he is 2x their size! They act like a chick. I had 5 hatch, one very weak poult didn't make it. When it left the shell, there was a lot of bleeding, so who knows

Got my bourbon red eggs today, will let rest and set in the incubator Sunday. What beautiful birds! I heard a member call them "turkeypuppies" I just love my BBW. They are taller than my GLW roo already at 2 months, and all 15 insist they need to sit on me. Getting to be pretty heavy! I cant sit on the grass anymore

If they wander and get lost, it does sound like a dog bark! OW OW .....OW OW OW
