INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Hi all! Just started fermenting feed and i think its great! Thanks janet! The birds love it so much they come right up to me and eat out of the spoon! Much easier to put them up at night if they fear they are going to miss out on food! I love seeing hard poops now instead of runny ones! The birds also love tge plastic gutter we are feeding them in too! Everyone just lines right up! Also i still have 3 americana polish mix chicks for $6 total. I want all 3 gone to make room for my ducklings in brooder. Judging by their color i would say there are 2 hens and a roo! Email [email protected]
Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!

I got it lol. Yeah they were. Just around the tails. There are pins coming through though so they are growing back. Thanks! I spoil my feathered kids too much, they got corn on the cob yesterday.

I bet they loved the corn on the cob! Did you put butter on it for them?

I'm non-violent. I don't believe in spanking and I will never own a gun. : - ) Old Salt will really go all Rush Limbaugh on me now!

Nah.... To each his/her own. Some people are skilled enough in behavior modification of children to not have to resort to such measures. I was not. All three daughters are in their 40's and are good, decent people with a desire to be good people. The oldest required a very modest amount of correction when quite young. She was set on course by age 3 with the occasional pop on the rump. The mid-kid required none, barely a stern rebuke. The youngest was a holy terror until she was about 10, then she caught on. She is my favorite (don't tell the other girls). We recently had a wide-ranging conversation about "back then". She thanked me for turning her around when she was little. She had recently read an article about children being set in their ways by 6 or 8 or something like that. We didn't give up on her, or allow her to run wild. She is the one who I mentioned could, given the materials & time, build a house, including wiring, plumbing, and concrete work.

People who don't want guns shouldn't have them. But they ought not to deny them to those who do, except for the criminals. If a criminal is found to posses a firearm, (s)he should be tossed in the clink for a good long time, say 10 years.

Guns and their potential use is a subject that can be argued unto eternity. I like them. I have several. I almost never have occasion to use one for anything other than poking holes in paper. I live in a safe area where the keys are usually in my car in the driveway and the doors to the house are only sporadically locked. I have a handgun license, but hardly ever carry one. I would if going to a really dangerous part of Indy, but I don't, so I don't. If I lived in a dangerous area, I would. I think that, if more citizens carried handguns, there would be less crime as criminals would never know who might be able to fight back. One of the old-timers, maybe Mark Twain, but maybe not, once said "An armed society is a polite society". But they had crime back then, too. So who knows? Well, hell, here I go, rambling on the keyboard again. Shut up, you old coot, nobody cares about your drivel.

Remember, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

The boys look great! Believe it or not the chicks actually liked the baths I think lol. Do you have any idea why a couple of them are missing feathers around the base of their tails? They don't seem to pick at each other at all. I took a few picks of my other kids today... I hope they will all get along when it is time to blend them lol.

Wow! I will be SSSSSOOOOOOOOO pleased if my 2 1/2 week old Blue Cochins grow up to look like this. Pretty bird.

Thanks so much John. She was just a bin pick from Big R. I had a boy also, but I traded him for my silkie pair. She is also very good tempered. I hope she keeps filling out like this. Her feet are even wet in this pick from the rain today. Here is a few weeks old pick of her, she is on the right...

One week or so..

Day we got her, so day or two old...
