INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I have used Sevin dust for everything over the years. When I bought my 7 week old lab puppy, she was covered with fleas. I got out the bag of Sevin dust, dipped my hands into it and rubbed it all over her, except for the face. When I got done, she looked like a well powdered powder puff. I put her into her crate so she would shake off the excess onto the crate rug. A couple of days later, there was no sign of fleas. Gave her a bath and a piece of cheese. Good girl!

Today, I noticed quite a few gnats in the hen house, so I sprinkled Sevin all over and put on another light layer of hay. A couple of hours later, I noticed a large reduction in gnats. I sprinkled it in the chick area, dusting several chicks in the process.

If they are all dead in the morning, I'll let you know.

Ok, I hope they are all okay.

Are getting storms like we are up in Fort Wayne/ Very heavy rains right now.

I'm getting short spurts of heavy rain here, but just got done with a tornado warning. Thankfully all the chickens are locked up and power stays on. It was off and on for a little while but incubators where able to hold temps until power came back on.

If you breed a RLBW to a RLBW do you get 100% RLBW offspring?I know a little bit of genetics when it comes to blue, black, and splash ameraucanas, but other than that I am genetically challenged lol.

That is really good to hear. I have been praying not only for our roof, but for all of our friends in the Chickenvilles all around.

Have you lived in Warren long? I know the Shidelers who have lived in and around there for decades.

We have been in columbia city. Very windy, lots of lightning. Calming down a bit now to just rain...lots and lots of rain.
I live over by bluffton and it is as windy as could be and we are also getting a ton of rain. And it is lightening like crazy.I hope everyone and their chickens okay.My chicks are afraid of lightening and thunder so right about now they are probablyy bouncing off the walls. There was a tornado sited over by mt. etna.

I hope your the weather dosent affect your hatch.I have eggs that went into lockdown today and am worrying like crazy about them. The power has went off for a few minutes a couple time but the incubator seems to be doing good.

Nope. Blue to blue will get 25% black, 50% blue, 25% splash. Black to splash gives you 100% blue but from my reading it doesn't give you the best coloring if I remember correctly.
