So I'm home today, mom last appt went well. My chickens however some didn't fair too well with the cold temps. 2 have frost bite on their combs. What can I do for it? I know I need more ventilation, but dh says there's too much air getting in already and it's too big of a space for them to stay warm So needless to say I'm confused. The coup is 8 x 12 with 20 birds. There is about 10 sq feet of open ventilation. Then the window is bout another 2 sq feet. Dang it I thought I did so good putting this coop up I wouldn't have this problem, yet I do. So how do I fix it? And what can I do for those that have frost bite? We offer no light or heat to the coop.
