INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

So here it is at 7 in the evening and I noticed my light flashing on the answering machine. It was Perdue with gross findings...I can call them during business hours to talk to them. It would figure that its a Friday night and now I can't call her until Monday. I really wish I had seen the light earlier. I thought they would be emailing them to me.

Goatluver20- Poultryfest (as it was called last year) was just one of the most fun days I've had this year. We all met at Patrick's house (racinchickins), where he and Wade kindly let us have a poultry processing party (I missed that part), eat great food brought by all, and talk about chickens until we were tired. Their very eco-friendly house was beautiful and so was the flock of many colors out in the yard. It was so nice to meet many of the people we talk to every day on the thread and exchange ideas.

Speaking of talking every day....I know Old Salt is now busy with this girls but for the record, I miss his snappy wit and funny stories.

M2H- Your post earlier today about chia seeds made me laugh out loud. And...you were right...I probably shouldn't have everyone over. The one thing the Dr. left on my answering machine is that they did find something that looks like Marek's but I don't think its definitive yet. As much as I like you guys, I'd feel horrible if something spread to your flocks.

jchny2000- I appreciate your comments and I hope something good comes of this.
Good luck on the news tomorrow. We are all hoping its something less severe.

Since I kept chickens before, I though eh, no biggie.
Until they got here and I started to fall in love! I only kept meat birds some 28-30 years ago.. Then moved to town and didn't have any for a long time.

Whew. Got behind.

I did allergy shots too. Reacted to everything they tested for but 1 item. I was so bad that in the fall I couldn't lay down to sleep as sinus' were always swollen shut. I was "stopped up" 7-8 mos of the year.

Did the shots for about a year then got out of the habit. It really worked and I haven't been as bad since. So glad I did them!

April (Chinese) left, young gander right.. Top right thinking goose.

Not sure on this one, may be a 3rd gander.

Pekins! behind them is a spring project, 1974 apache popup camper.
Soon to be a "tractor" Mobile coop! Note: fence damage from a branch, ugh.
Replacing that section. Have to restring the electric line across it too.

Group shot! Top is the Aluminum "Goose coop".
Pekins chowing on the fresh hay.

More pics! My newest babies, hatched this last week:
OEGB

BR X GLW both chicks.... (My hen, Mabel & roo, Red)

Note the white spot on the second chick.. Thats a boy!
These are my "sexlink" chicks. BR hen x GLW rooster.

My egg flock and scovies... Note the large barred rooster, thats what the little guy above will look like!
He has the GLW comb. Was hurrying in to warm up but wanted to get his picture.
Plan to get a better one once this awful cold is over!

I have an odd question for everyone, I'm going to try hatching eggs of frizzle Cochin bantams, I may keep a rooster, I currently have 4 EEs, what would be the outcome of breeding if they are kept together? And I have to be careful of frizzle on frizzle crossing as well right?
My sons and I got shots for *everything*. Took four years. Our allergies have not come back. I think we finished about 3 years ago, maybe 4. I want to get a kitten but DH won't let me. Ha, ha fooled him, we're getting silkies.

I have cats and dogs, both of which I am greatly allergic to. I was also tested for *everything*, majority of which I am allergic to lol! You could even get a real kitten and throw it with the chickens, he would never know the difference!
