INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

We use an electronic mouse trap in the house. It seems to work better than the snap traps. Probably because it doesn't matter how careful the mouse is, it just needs to make the connection between the plates. Also, there is no blood, so no smell of dead mouse to warn the next mouse. I think it is probably the most efficient and humane trap I've tried.

Ahhh after yesterday's post racinchickens has me looking at hatching eggs. I don't need another project!!!

Welcome to the club! It seems like every day is an exercise in 'I will not buy. I will not buy. I will not buy!'.

DH had his surgery today and while on the table his blood pressure spiked, got that under control then his heart rate drooped to 39.. not good. they cant get him stable so he is still in the hospital. I am beat and cant sleep worrying about him of course, so here I sit on the computer at 11 pm. All my critters are mad at me... they didn't get feed till 10 pm. the chickens had to put themselves to bed, and the dogs had a field day in my house....

actually took me 30 min. to get the mess cleaned up...

Oh my gosh, chick rookie, do you have any family or friends to help out with the animals so you can concentrate on your DH and also get some rest yourself?! It's good they kept him at the hospital so you don't have the responsibility of caring for him until he is feeling better. I'm sure it's tough to not worry, but you have to get some sleep so you can cope. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better-- just take it one day at a time so you don't feel overwhelmed. When he's released from the hospital and you'd feel better if you had services like having a nurse stop by to check on him, make sure to speak up because they have social workers who make sure you have support people to help.

racinchickens~ If the veterinarians who conducted the study I mentioned approve rat zappers as humane, I'm sure the smaller versions are also good.
Leahs Mom and you have been helpful to let us know about that type of trap being an option.

iamfivewire ~ Good to hear from you! We hoped that you hadn't frozen in the Michigan weather! It's hard to imagine the weather being worse than Indiana's has been this year. Btw, while you were away, we gained another out-of-state thread member -- minmin from West Virginia!

thanks, I have 6 dogs, 2 GP ( LGD'S ) and i got a message ( I just checked ) from the vets office right next door to us ( that we don't use...lol ) that our dogs have been visiting them all day while I was at the hospital. They spoiled them with treats trying to keep them their for me... but someone must have brought them home cause they were in the backyard when I got here????
