INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Here are some quick pictures I took of the silkies I hatched from Kabhypers eggs. They are just beautiful!

Two little partridges

Single Black

I believe this will be a splash, but possibly a light blue.

Two little whites

And a showgirl from my eggs

and my 3 modern bantam chicks
Dang! Look at the vaults on those partridges! They are all cute. That little grey one may feather out white. Don't ask why I have no idea other than silver based white, but it happens. Oh yeah and based on beak shape you may have a pair with the partridges.

Hey guys! I've been lurking and reading. :) I'm glad the puppy is going to be okay and the baby goats are adorable. M2H, your chicks are really cute!. I cleaned out the silkie box today, and since they can't get outside I let them run around my kitchen. I had a rather large mopping job after. It was really cute though seeing Snow and her babies interact with the silkie family. They were all very good with the babies. I don't feel confident putting them in the box with the big silkies yet though. Hopefully we can get the back out in the coop in a couple of weeks.
I really love the big family pics!
Ok. Im willing to nake a spreadsheet on the indiana chick days 2014 if you guys think it would be helpful. Something with store, location, phone number, and if or when they have chicks. If this seems like something useful let me know
It would help me to know which stores I can't go in and when

Our TSC said they are getting chicks next week .
Thanks for the warning! I'd better get my greenhouse quick.
So I'm sure you are all sick of my pics, but I took the camera into the pitch black den and snapped a few pictures. The result is pretty funny. The progression of sleeping with five kids under you. I'm pretty sure she is levitating. 3 weeks old and ornery, but they still need their momma.
I AM SO DONE WITH THIS WINTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!      :rant :rant :rant :rant :smack :smack :smack :he :he :he :he I went out to the coop to feed and collect the 4 eggs I ALWAYS get first thing and what I found just made me cry and cuss!!!!!!!! First thing I saw was a whole CHEWED in the pop door big enough that a med sz dog could get in. I opened the door and one of the perches were broke in 1/2. my top laying boxes were broke up and scattered around the floor, and 2 hens missing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big Coon tracks all over the place, DH says it was more then 1. I have 3 live traps out tonight and my gun loaded and ready.
Oh man, that is so sad! I'm really sorry. How thick was your door? Good luck tonight. My neighbor was just telling me about their dogs fighting with coons and possums. Spring better hurry up as all the natives are getting restless. It's great that the weather is warming up, but unfortunately, I've heard tornado weather predictions for Thurs. I sure hope that's wrong! Max came home today and he's doing great! The only thing is that his feet are wrapped and they say he can't get them wet until tomorrow. I don't know about you guys, but nothing is dry at my house.

I am wondering if maybe you are related to Mr. Miyagi?
Brad, I think it's time to rename you to ChickJunkie ;)

Your bad stuff has to be done, you have too many chicks coming for bad things to happen :love

Glad to hear your dogie is doing better and is home, it's a mud bog around here too but will take that over SNOW any day, course still got some snow too cant wait till it all melts away and DON'T COME BACK!!!!

Last april was our firzs time of having chickens - i did call ahead to a TSC in our area to check availability & they said they had quite a few - 1/2 hour later i get there & not even one chick to be found - they sold the remaining lot to someone who got there 10 minutes before i arrived - said theyd never seen it happen before where someone bought over 100 chicks at one time . So yes, calling ahead is a good plan - but not 100% guaranteed , since i dont think they'll hold for you.

Mr. Miyagi was the teacher in the original Karate Kid. He'd clap his hands, rub them together, and put them on the injury to heal it. If you get interested in a clip, you tube has one called Daniel wants balance. It sounds like you helping your chickens legs feel better. It was smart thinking.

I completely understand. I'd be mad too. Is your pop door inside a locked run? From your previous pics it seemed like it would take work to get to the door.
