INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Ohh sure! Call me out! Lol. Maybe to out your mind to ease, look into doing the Indiana T-12 program. It's free of charge and tested for Salmonella pullorum, Salmonella gallinarum, Salmonella entritidis, Mycoplasma gallisepticum, Mycoplasma synoviae and avian influenza. Again all free of charge. I did this last summer/fall and will try to do it again this year (not sure how many times you can have it done).

Edit: Helps if I include the link! http://www.inpoultry.org/documents/T-12 Egg Testing Flyer-Web.pdf

Also, it would be great if they (Indiana Poultry Assoc) would be willing to attend the "annual" meet up!
I really didn't mean to call you out. I meant it that I knew it wasn't you. :) I moved her to a kennel without shavings and put some vet rx under her wings and on her beak and wattles. Poor thing is eating like a horse, but her feed is getting messy around her mouth. I may look into that. Without clicking the link why do they offer that? If it is found that my flock has a disease will they fine me or something? I don't know where she would have gotten it it seems very a very slim possibility. Should I put the rest of the flock back on duramycin? They aren't sick. The five little ones are in that room to and have been exposed to her.

What are the chances of a bird who was raised in the house, never been outside more than 2 times for 5 minutes, born here, never been exposed to anyone who has birds, except for Brad, who has healthy birds, and we have never had any incidences of respiratory illness in the one year we have had chickens, having Mycoplasmosis?I also don't let visitors hold them except for very special occasions. All of the silkies I have have never been sick and are just a year old. When she was sick last time I had the rest on Duramycin. I don't want to do that again. None of the other flock members have any symptoms just like last time. The vet I talked to the last time lily was sick said it probably myco,  but she is sick again. I'm really hoping it's just irritation from the dust, but the poor thing is very puffy in her face.

I was just giving you a hard time. Nope it is purely for research and monitoring the diseases in Indiana. When you send in the paper, they send you a box with prepaid shipping. They also give you a bunch of info on the diseases and bio security. I think my free gift was a spatula and chicken pin lol. I would think if it was that, atleast on of your other birds would be showing symptoms. Also, let's not forget that wild birds would probably be your #1 source for the disease.

lol, ok I wont worry to much, I left to pick up my daughter (also stopped by the Warsaw's TSC) and when we got back the little chick had moved to another corner behind it. so its still doing good I would guess. as for tractor supply we came back with 8 new babies! 4 Buff straight run, and 4 more EE'rs

But if she had it, I would think that the others would atleast be carriers of the disease.
True. I find it really hard to believe that none of my silkies would not have shown signs since last may. Through all of the wet, hot, cold, dusty, lice, etc from the year, none of my hens or Booker have had a sneeze even. I started with Booker and Ashes, then got the four white hens. They are all from Kim. I'm sure they are healthy birds. Then I hatched the 11 chicks. My friend has 4 of them and they have never been sick. The seven I kept are all healthy except for Lily's recurring sinus issue. It has only happened 2 times and both times I opened the window and let it get too cool in the room while I was cleaning. The dust can get overwhelming. Maybe she is just sensitive to the cold and dust. So should I put the rest of the flock on antibiotics? I'm worried now. Even though last time they were fine. The baby ducks are in another room and I have been washing hands like crazy. I barely have skin left.
