I was concerned about that too! I plan on wrapping the outside of the gardens with some soft fencing until the seedlings get really established. Its all trial and error here.

CRSelvey ~ After DH plants, he'll put a chicken wire & T post fence around them. It worked well last year. We don't have enough full sun to plant much, so our garden is pretty small.
Very intriguing story about how you got started working with stained glass ~ and I know of a great opportunity for you. I ran across an auction ad for a stained glass business located in Newburgh, Indiana (the eastside of Eville). Actually, Newburgh is a really cool historical little town on the Ohio.
Here's the link about the auction, which includes photos:

pginsber ~ I have never heard of tomato-loving dogs before! Your fencing will keep out chickens, too, since they aren't supposed to eat the plant part of tomatoes if they'd even be interested. I was worried about having tomatoes and Chinese eggplant growing in the chicken area last year, but luckily chickens seem to know what not to eat-- most of the time anyway.
If you covered your raised bed with hardware cloth, it would make a nice, large brooder!
That's too bad about your run caving in from the snow! Chain link sounds much easier to use-- hardware cloth and chicken wire are both horrible to work with.
