INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Everyone who sent me messages regarding buying chicks, I haven't forgotten about you. I'm hoping to move the last of the chicks out tomorrow and will get pics tomorrow or Wednesday. Apologize for the delay. Taking much longer to get the garage organized and cleaned than I thought.
Im thinking I need another pair of Silkies... or if possible a pair of hens... Earl wants to take care of business and Diamond just isnt ready...LOL poor Earl! I have a Blue/black
roo that I traded for a couple chicks but no girls for him either. So If I had another white hen/pullet and a blue/black or gray one that would round out my "flock" of Silkies nicely.
If I post pics of Rudy can you tell me if hes a pure Silkie or a mixed one? Ive never seen any pics you have posted of Roos with "Straight" feathers in their tails, and he seems
larger than any of the roos that have bn posted...that Ive seen. He is very calm and loving, follows me around the yard and comes when I call his name. LOL I think he is part dog? hehehe. If I say NO sternly he stops what hes doing and looks at me sideways and stomps his feet...LOL like a stubborn child. Its so cute. Any way let me know about the
possibility of getting additions.

Butchered 10 Cornish x today. I got them on the 17th of march and most I butchered were over 9 lbs. 25 to go
I have some cornish X that I got from RK on March 1st. They are no where near 9 pounds. Can you tell me more about how you raise yours. Mine have food 24 / 7 for the first 3 weeks then for 18 hours on week 4. Then for about 12 hours until week 6 when I let their food run out for 4 hours during the day. Mine have been in a tractor style pen since they were 4 weeks old. So lots of green grass to eat.

Soaked our rooster's foot tonight. The swelling has not changed much if at all since the Surgery on Sunday. I'm going to give it till Thursday before asking DH to attempt a second surgery. Our surgery knife is coming from Amazon on Thursday.

Tractor to I have feed in front of them all the time and light all the time. Good friend and I got chicks last year and when we butchered his was over a full pound per bird larger then mine. Light on this group and results are showing. However they eat more, but rate of gain is the same.

Just a random question to those of you who keep or have kept bees. I understand they have little hives and they go in them a lot, but can they get out and fly around? What I guess I mean is do you have a bunch if bees roaming around your yard? Or are they confined to there hives?

*I have no interest in keeping bees, infact I am highly allergic and terrified of them, I was just curious with all the bee talk we have in here, exactly how that goes

Well I'm down to 11 silkies now, with 8 to hatch. I'm trying to find some new sq and bq pullets to add to my flock. Need some new blood in the lines. Shearing day for the alpacas is friday and I shipped our last years fleece out today to the mill. This week is nutz. Hope everyone is having a nice week. I haven't posted much, but I hang out on here a lot reading. If anyone needs me, I'm around, just pm me. :)
