So... most of my friends start back to school today. What is wrong with this world?!? Even my mom has been saying that it is crazy torture lol (sorry I went on a tiny rant just had to let it out)

Yesterday I had my first 1/2 dozen day.  Very exciting!  In the morning, I adjusted the coop and then nest boxes.  I made the boxes a little darker and more sheltered, and eliminated all blind corners in the coop, and now they're using all of the nests.  Yay!  

I think the new hens are my three RIRs.  I'm still waiting for the GCs and my one EE.

Where are all the poultry shows in indiana? Specifically, are there any near laffayette or fountain county? I wish I was still young enough to be in 4-h... haha...I love showing animals!

the larger ones are listed here, but there are smaller local ones put on to raise money for 4h and such. We went to one of those last year in Bloomington. it was nice too. Small is not always a bad thing, just means you get to spend more time looking at what they have.

I imagine you can figure out how to electronically enhance your smartphone to shoot--is that in the works? Surely you could invent something that could at least zap enough electricity to stun a squirrel at 10 paces?

I was able to get some pictures of my animals yesterday and decided i'd share some. Sorry there are so many My new dog Thatcher. He is so sweet and guards all the chickens. Mama my chicken watching cat. . Mr. Darcy the lovely lavender orpington roo (he is learning to crow). My adorable little chocolate orpington bantams, junior and midge. Pixie, my golden comet. Elwood my brainless buff orpington roo. Sheroo, my barred plymouth rock, (We were not sure if he was a boy or girl when he was little) is the best roo on the planet. He is so sweet! Cecilia, my curious rhode island red. I know this is not a chicken lol but just thought i'd share it. Yesterday, i sat under our humming bird feeders for about 30 minutes taking pics of them. It wasn't the easiest task because the chickens were trying to peck my arms off and the lens of the camera. Joan jet black my jersey giant. She is the boss! This is one of the best pics I've ever gotten of her. Mona, my sweet buff orpington. Carmen, my bug catching pro easter egger. One last pic of Thatcher being silly.

Adorable puppy, beautiful birds! And I love their names.

Okay guys I have a question. At the bottom of all my posts it has all that stuff about me I keep changing it on my page but it doesn't change it on my posts. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Are you clicking the save/update button?

I do not accept checks. if rhey want to use a check they can get me a USPS money order. I also very rarelyhave cash on me. I try to remind buyers to bring exact amount (there have been a few times ive made some extra money because buyers failed to bring correct amount.
I believe lowes did have one of those square card readers (may have been a different brand) but it was $10 and you got a $10 lowes gift card in the package. They also had your first $1000 in sales were free.

Ive not had the need for one yet since I can juat sent an invoice from paypal to a customer and they can pay with card or bank account that way. I have always ate the fees associated with using PayPal. It annoys me when sellers charge me a fee. If I dont want to pay the fees ill just charge more for the birds.

I typically meet everyone in a public place when they buy anything from me. One for the biosecurity aspect and 3 id rather people not know where I live as the chickens are not locked up and coild easily be stolen. I even claimed mu name on whitepages.com and deleted my address off it. Maybe im paranoid but cant be too safe anymore.

I think all of these suggestions are great ideas. I don't sell stuff but I do buy lots of stuff and find PayPal really convenient. Anybody who has a checking account (which they must if they are trying to pay you with a check) can use PayPal to pay from it, so you are not asking them to pay from a different source. And it protects the buyer as well, as they can file a complaint if necessary. Adding the extra fee that PayPal charges you seems reasonable to me - it's basically a charge to the buyer for the convenience of PayPal over cash. I also agree that I wouldn't want a bunch of strangers on my property - both for biosecurity and my own safety. You could always send them photos of your set-up and birds if they wanted to see before buying (or post them on a website).

desktop instructions:

top right you should be able to find your username. Float mouse above your username and a dropdown box appears. In the drop down box is an option to edit my signature. Click on edit my signature. Type in what you want to show, edit it and stay within the formatting rules. click the lower right preview. Make sure you like what you see. Click the lower right save. Go check a post you have already made and the updated signature should be there.
