INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I'll say! You two crack me up

I was the Cyan Knight for a long time on a bbs, long ago and far away. You have no idea the lengths I'll go to for pretty green letters.

I really need to find a family doctor to go to lol. Just spent the last 3 hrs at a walk in clinic and the pharmacy. I guess I need to pay attention to those safety videos at work and actually follow their "How to properly lift" techniques. Lower back is killing me. Hope these muscle relaxers start to kick in.

I guess I'm not as "young" as I think I am LOL!!

You really need to take care of your back! I injured mine as a younger person and it has been a problem ever since. When they say 'lift with your knees' they mean it. Of course, I've got a bum knee too.... :he

Feel better soon.

So jealous! love your orchard and that garden it just beautiful! I'm not going to show DH your pond, hes been wanting one for years. I keep telling him to start digging. We have a very high water table here, 7' or so, and he hasn't started digging so....lol
So sorry to hear about your duckling, its never easy :(
We got our pond because of our high water table. We couldn't dig as far down for our basement so we needed a lot of fill to "raise" up the elevation of our house. Digging a big hole in our backyard & using that dirt was cheaper than had a bizillion truckloads of fill brought in. The pond self-filled within a couple of months!

We finally have colorful eggs! I love seeing the reactions of people when they open the cartons. :)
So pretty! I'd love to have the really dark eggs to add to my mix!

I like your brown type color! I always know who's posting

crselvey usually uses a different color too. Usually I read half a post and have to scroll back to see who it was posting! I haven't figured out how to change font color from my phone (my only internet access) otherwise I'd post in purple ;P

ABOUT USING COLOR FOR TYPE
It's not that I am a fan of brown, it's just that it's easy on the eyes, which is IMPORTANT. As a graphic designer, I recommend using a darker, toned down version of the color you like. Using bright colors for text (especially on a bright screen) makes reading difficult and often causes eye strain and headaches. Using a bright color for a headline is okay if it's short, but for example, I used a toned-down red for my headline. For those who don't know, you can click on "More Colors . . ." at the bottom of the color palette to find other colors. Unfortunately, the color choices available on byc aren't so great.
Btw, @CRSelvey copied off of me as usual.

haha

Here are examples of why not to use bright type:

Good advice, but I don't have the option to choose colors that way on my Kindle. I have to go look up the HEX code for any color I want to use and type in the code manually, unfortunately. I switched to a darker green though.

OMG-- I was going to mention NOT to use reversed type, especially with bright colors. A strain to read-- a least your post wasn't long. haha The worst are websites with reversed type and bright colors and animations.

I'm not trying to act like a know-it-all (I do know more about graphic design than I do chickens!), but it's just like anyone else on this thread who has a particular profession. A carpenter might have tips on building, and a person who shows chickens might have tips on grooming. I'm just trying to avoid everyone ending up with headaches and seizures! haha
