Hey, I'm back been gone for 2 and a half weeks. got to catch up on around 1865 posts.![]()
I like the shed ideal, hoping it works out better then what we have, my kids free range too Some get the goat yard, some get the horse pasture and the little's get to use the back yard with the dogs, did that for protection and the LF beat them up. But I want floor space cause I am guilty of making them stay in when really cold or wet in the winter and I don't want them getting mad at each other for being to crowded. Done some more looking around and still cant find anything about floor space for the little's, going to go with 1/2 of LF and hope for the best, just keep an eye on them may have to put play things and treat balls and such in to keep them occupied. We shall see. I haven't give up on finding out actual number yet, Son said to goggle so that is next, lolHopefully your back mends quickly~ I hear ya, I way overdid this week also. Got a lot done tho and am really happy I did! I just adore the pic's of Purrcy![]()

Sound like a great weekend! And birds from Brad is always and AWESOME thing!!
I like the ideas you posted. Sheds are so much easier if you have the land to do it! Can be changed, improved. If you plan it in advance, can be moved too! I know LF is 4sq ft..hope someone better up to date on what birds need can help. I focus mostly on roosting space here since my birds are free ranging all day. I do plan to start on breeding tractors so I am ready for next spring, So I want to be sure the tractors are large enough to confine them full time.
I really dread the winter to come, I have seen some really black willy worms the last couple of mths. I did last year too and look what we has plus the FA is predicting it really bad too. I HATE WINTER!!!!!Ugh! DH is miserable too. Eyes all red and itchy, coughing a LOT. He has allergy medicine and its barely helping This is a really bad year I guess due to cool temps and so much rain. Lots of weeds out there making us all miserable!
and our thread
I have a feeling we have spoke from craigslist..If not thats ok too. Is your tom Bacon?![]()
We have so many members versed on illness I betcha someone can help you work through it.
My roos did develop saddles but its not what you see in a normal roo. Winter got my sebrights last yearI did like the breed very much, but they need warmer housing or a lot of LF bodies to help keep them warm.![]()
thats got me thinking I need to call some folks!![]()
Our poop board fell last week, another reason the coop needs retired. My nephew is very motivated so I think my new coops are going up pretty fastWe discovered the main coop has termites. That's why it went downhill so fast, ugh! The wood was not treated so they managed to chew it away. The building is 30 yrs old next year, so I shouldn't complain.![]()
Welcome to our home away from home... I really got to get a better welcome then that.. loljust started this year purchased 23 back in April, just now getting eggs
Sounds like you had a good time. Congrats on the new doe, and the info fixin to head your way sounds interesting.Awesome weekend! Got to meet up with @jsummers and family for a bonfire and cookout, had a great time! Jess and I went to get her new goat doe Monday, Elsie.
She was from a familiar farm. What a small world! She had found an ad on craigslist that turned out to be my buck Bochephus home he was bred from. Really excited for her, she was able to add a very sweet doe and I shared pictures of Bo with his breeder. We were even more pleased when our breeder looked them up and they are not related!
I love working with this breeder, she has a fantastic herd. Just added several from ohio, and has a new line (VERY impressive buck) completely unrelated from ours. She also works with heritage RIR so I will be texting her a lot for more info. Hope to convince her to join our thread! Lot of knowledge on several species. She is very pro organic also, just a fantastic plus on general health.
Nite everyone and good morning! Time to start the day.
I'm sorry... lol been there done thatHey, I'm back been gone for 2 and a half weeks. got to catch up on around 1865 posts.![]()

Now, what I meant to ask in my last post. Thanks ladies.love the little sebright pipd! Yes those are khaki campbells.
We are getting ready to get the barn set up for all of the animalsfor winter. If its anything like last year, there is noway they can stay in the coops. We couldnt even get to the coops last year there was so much snow.
AAAAAHHHHHHH! My cemani eggs are growing! I really hope these guys make it! I'm pretty sure all 6 eggs developed but one maybe an early quitter.
Yeah, the true, henny feathered Sebrights are pretty uncommon. Sorry you lost your birdies! My roos did develop saddles but its not what you see in a normal roo. How was it too small for your ducks? Just because of the number of birds, or was the door too small or something? Just wondering, because the duck coop I had planned to build would be about the same size. It is really cute and would make an awesome coop! I would call dibs, but I have no way of transporting it.So we had this playhouse delivered to us last year sight unseen. From the description given to us we thought we would be able to use it for Benji's ducks. But after it arrived we realized it was way too small to use for any of the animals we have. It's roughly 4'x7' on the outside (seems really narrow inside). The door is about 3 1/2' tall and the side walls just 4' tall so there's no good way for adults to get inside. If you did get in through the door you could stand up inside. The roof needs reshingled and the bottom of the door has some issues. Other than than, it seems to be built very solidly. The black things on either side of the window are plant hooks -- I think it could be turned into a really cute coop for someone with just a few chickens -- which is not us! Since it's been over a year and we still haven't figured out what to do with it (and it's a big pain in the butt to mow around!) I'm ready to sell it. I wanted to let all of you have first dibs if anyone's interested before I list it on craigslist. PM me if you're interested!

Yeah, we have 16 ducks so they would be packed on top of each other in there!
