Yes, a lot of people associate leg and walking problems with Marek's, but there are actually quite a few things that can explain it. The leg problems associated with Marek's are pretty distinct. I've come across a few videos of Marek's sufferers and, well, you'd know it if you saw it. :/ I can try to look up those videos if anyone is interested in seeing them. I hear a lot of people are breeding for birds that don't show symptoms, as a way of killing out the effects of the disease. More power to them! Hm, looks like this entire post was, "Oooh, pretty birds!" until that last bit... Bit of an interesting selection of topics.I hope your girl is getting better! You have been given a lot of good advice. It doesn't sound a whole lot like Marek's. While the lack of coordination can be a symptom, infected birds generally continue to eat until they're just too sick--just have trouble getting to the food. And while Marek's usually affects younger birds, symptoms can appear at any age. Also a bird can be a carrier and never develop symptoms. This info is from a pathologist at the Purdue diagnostic lab; she was most helpful when I went through a spell of MD a few years ago.
