INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Howdy friends - I am going back to school next month, so am doing some serious down-sizing.

I have BBR Phoenix, barred, and red pyle Phoenix - as well as some very rare fibro phoenix available. Also, I am selling some Ayam Cemani juveniles and some authentic Fly Tie Fowl.

If anyone is interested, please send me a private message and I will shoot you the links to the postings on Craigslist.

Thanks kindly!

I see them in stores all the time, I often wonder if they work? I really like the ones that the head moves, it's solar and notion censored. That might be worth a try, thanks for reminding me of them.

where does everyone get those, I think I have a couple girls that will need them this winter, not growing feathers back well at all
If you're crafty, you can make your own using free online templates. If you're not, you can buy some on eBay.

My 1st roo was just rough with every hen & they needed wing protection as well. There are many styles & I ended up buying these: http://www.louisescountrycloset.com/butterfly-saddles/
I bought iron-on patches to make my own predator eyes. (Mine are technically peacock patches.)

Miss Huey has round 3 hatched and brought them out to show me, 11 total. I will let her brood these unless sold. Anyone interested in pied Muscovy please PM they will look like Huey as adults. I only have 1 hatch left to go this year. The last hatch will be black, chocolates should be due next week. Any lavenders are waiting list only!
Oh they are adorable Janet! I may have to consider adding a few babies! ;)

Quote: aww thank you! Hueys babies are so sweet, they always start out so social. They were falling all over my feet this morning when I brought the waterer into the coop. I have to take the other hens babies, she always wants to take them to the pond right away. So that group will be going into a brooder, ugh.

Gonna need to get a tom. Not sure if a Palm could cover a BB hen, but it'd be a nice evening of breast meat (and hopefully reproducability).

The trio I got from you have started putting themselves in the coop at night. Surprised me but very pleased. One of the girls flew into the pool this afternoon. I just let her be as it was very entertaining! Lol!

My DH said a man he works with said they were called "walk aways" that they would just leave one day. ?? Now I don't recall hearing or reading any such thing. Does that have any merit to it?

If you get a hatch, I want to hear it! That will sway my opinion on the BBs for sure.

Quote: I have never had that issue with muscovy. Have heard mallards will do it! 2 of my mallard hens are giving me fits, I had to confine them again. Huey will be here 4 years in may, and she is a real home body. My hens that are 100% free range do fly a lot, roost in trees, but they all "come home" and coop up at night. If they have ample food, water and shelter they won't "leave". They will be underfoot and on your shoulder, in your lap and loving your attention lol, i can tell you that for sure.
Anyone in the most southern states have seen the wild Muscovy flocks, in that case I can see them leaving if they are broody raised. Muscovy become so imprinted on their people I just can't see it here.
