INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Quote: I sell in Indy and charge $3/doz for mine. Most people don't even blink when I tell them the price.

As for White Laced Red, Mcmurray sells those. I'd be interested, but certainly don't need 25 of them. I'd go in on a group order to get them though.

Well ya'll I'm bored... so you are going to have to pay the piper

I got these from a privet sell, said she couldn't tell the breed line but Not Hatchery. Something tells me I was lied to, but we like them anyway.
Looks like Light Brahma to me.

Looks largely buff orpington

It COULD have Easter Egger somewhere in the mix.  Most have big cheeks, but not all.  Definitely has a winter hardy comb.

Definitely not an Ameraucana, but it could be Easter Egger, most likely simply a mixed breed

I think I'm going to take her back. I was told Ameraucana. I thought maybe she was just young and didn't have her poofy checks yet. That's strike one...strike two is that she is terrified of any thing and everything. She runs into a corner every time I walk by or another chickens moves suddenly. I mean literally runs as fast as she can into a corner, she's gonna break her **** neck.

Is this an Ameraucana? She is about 4-6 months old. I bought her from a local farm. She is so skidish. She had her head tucked in the corner for a whole day.
She's an EE. Face isn't fluffy enough to be a true Ameraucana, but she looks almost identical to some of my EEs. Most of mine have more of the black double-lacing wild-type pattern of their South American ancestors.

You'll know if one is going to have puffy cheeks because it'll hatch with them.

Your opinion, please...for those of you that have or had flighty birds, have you had flighty birds that are also interested or curious about humans? May sound stupid to ask, but does flighty always mean 'keeps distance from people'?
When I think of flighty birds I think of the high jumpers or the ones that jump and coast a few feet.

Quote: The price varies with the size of the roosters. Almost all of my HRIR are at the $10-$15 size. As for meeting closer, unfortunately at this time we can't.

Pretty sure that Cochin is a pullet. You should know by now just going by comb size. I have 7 CXs that are younger than she is, and I can easily tell which are males (one's even crowing). Coloring also seems to be really even and light, which is a lady thing. Boys are less even and more golden in buffs.

Glad to see Balckbeard's happy. He's growing up so pretty.

I think his base coloring is golden duckwing with a few stray alleles otherwise (like incomplete lacing). When you try him in calculators, go ahead and call him gold duckwing and see what he should toss given that.
Ok not trying to be a dumb butt here but " try him in calculators " what are you talking about? I don't get it.

Glad you liked it. AJ is always modeling for us she will even throw her head back like a woman flips hers hair... lol All you got to do is ask " where is my sexy woman "?

Definitely not an Ameraucana, but it could be Easter Egger, most likely simply a mixed breed
x2 I cant tell what color her legs are, cant find my glasses

I have 3 barred rocks, 4 Australorps and 4 golden comets. I got them all fro rural king the first week of May.
All good breeds, you should get plenty of eggs.

yes they are Lt. Brahma's I worded it wrong, I meant to say the woman couldn't tell me the name of the Breeder, what the blood lines were. Sorry my bad.

I would if it was me especially if she charged you true AM price, I have an EE that same way, she lays great is the only reason she is still here.

Good to know!! Thank you for clarifying. New to Ameraucanas. I am purchasing 3 on Saturday.

I was told when buying true AM's to look for slate legs, white skin and they come in White, Black, Blue, and Wheaten. I have seen Blue Wheaten and a few others but I don't know if they are accepted as true AM's. O and they have pea combs. These look more like they might be the read deal. If I'm wrong someone will correct me, this group is all about educating and I have learned allot and no one makes me feel like an idiot.

I had a bird who acted the same but it was largely because she was the new young girl who was quickly made the bottom of the pack by any hen who came close she hid for weeks till I got ride of the two who bullied her always and lowered my flock number so that might be the issue if you arnt mad about the price or that she's not exactly what you wanted id give her a chance..
