I'm in park county if you ever go to bridgefest or the covered bridge festival(same thing) you probably been by my house I'm in bridgeton

Ive been once but it was years ago so I really dont remember how far away it was lol. I have a bad habit of not paying attention to how we get places since I dont drive lol.

Well sense you mentioned Bees I found a cool video for a bee hive but i dont think they make them for mass use yet. Anyone have successful hives that are a little easier and friendlier than the older ones?

And on another note yesterday when I was checking on my rir chicks I put with the rest of my rir I picked one up and noticed something strange it had little feather stubs like one or two little shoots of feather coming out of its feet.. Now I know daddy had same thing but I thought it was a weird oddity now I'm worried... This isn't a common trait in rirs is it? Is it possible his parent or grand parent were mixed? It's only one or two so maybe there's some brahma or langshan in there?

It's regular like top/topside like a brahma but red and only two and it's not full feather more like the fluff

I agree Daskhsan. Ive met a few people just through giving little roosters away, my husband works with two people that also have small farms and no one in my area is on here. (I'm still not sure where you are lol). What gets me the most though is theres hardly anyone in this area doing any kind of farming. We are out of town, theres no zoning in this county yet my neighbors complain to the county commision about my gardens and animals, instead of raising their own food. They are only interested in pretty yards. Drives me crazy

Those people are called " country folk wannabe's " they move to the country after living in town ALL their lives to "get away from it all " buy up all the land and wast it!! IMHO It really does make me mad, cause not only do THEY waste the land they want US too also!! Because it offends their sensitive sensibilities!! Your horses stink, Your goats make a mess, you chickens are dirty and carry diseases!!! blah blah blah They should move their behinds BACK to the city.

Ok RANT over, sorry.


On a much happier note I think ALL my girls decided to give me gifts today... check it out.

Well I had to unplug 2 tank heaters tonight. They kept popping the breaker, so now I will have to go out everyday and bust someones water put the heater in thaw and repeat, going to suck.

all summer I got from 24 to 30 eggs as a normal thing, then fall it dropped to 12 to 16. Then yesterday I went out and ALL of them laid an egg. now you watch... today I wont get nothing... lol

Told the one neighbor last time he complained saying my chickens were going to"stink up the neighborhood" that I pay the roperty taxes here and if he dont like it he.ahould have moved somewhere with an HOA. Hes actually had the nerve to sit on his front porch and scream at my kids to shut up when they were playing in my yard. His own kids sit inside playing video games nonstop. And gee! Ton of eggs! Lol. Ill probably never get that many. Daskhan- we used to be an hour and a half straight south of Indy. Before all of the construction on 37. Now it takes nearly two hours just to get to Martinsville lol. Everything north of Kentucky and south of Michigan seems to be under construction .
