INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Don't have much time but wanted to post this quick:

Puppy got out and attacked the other CX hen, ripped the all the skin on the back of her neck completely off. I have her inside with a huge gauze pad coflexed to it. I'm going to have to shoot her up with a ton of Liquamycin 200, but she's very sensitive right now and doesn't want me touching her chest. She seems to have aspirated some fluid, so I'll have to monitor that as well. I've got quite the sick ward in my living room (which is starting to smell pretty coop-like). Not sure how good a recovery anyone here thinks she can make though. She's moving and as alert as ever (though might be a little more lethargic than usual). I'm going to make sure she gets some boosted iron content.
Wow hope she recovers,

Hey folks, finally found my password. Hope you are all doing well. :) I wanted to share an updated picture of our small flock, now 5 months old. Four hens, one whacky looking rooster (far right). We are enjoy in them and they are very tame.
Look at all those fancy feathers! That's one unique roo.
Thanks

The chicken on the far right is a Gold Brabanter rooster. Isn't he wild looking? He doesn't have his full adult coloring yet as these chickens are 5 months old. L to R are 4 hens: Tolbunt Polish frizzle, cream legbar, polish I was told was Tolbunt but wonder if gold laced or a mix, cream legbar... Then the lone rooster. They are all very tame and friendly. They are fun to watch and have different personalities. The Gold Brabanter rooster is friendly when we can catch him, ha! My DH named him Road Runner because that's how he looks when he runs and he seems to think of we catch him, he's through! He has long legs, think dinosaur, ha! But once on my lap, he stretches out for a nap, sometimes drapes his long neck on my arm. The legbars are soft and sweet and wNt in our laps, they are so beautiful and when they start laying will give us blue eggs! Neat! Then the two Polish. We haven't named the hens yet though have a few ideas. The dark headed one is more shy and funny how she bobs and shakes her head, she stands so tall to peer under her headdress! The frizzle follows the others and doesn't see as well ...she settles down on our laps and her frizzled feathers are so soft. The picture does not do her justice, she is beautiful and different. It is fun to watch them all together and interacting

get ready for the yuk factor, Sorry

I have a house full, well 2 rooms, Of sick hens. They all have Swollen eyes and no appetite. and their poo is watery without blood. Thy sit all puffed up like they are cold. I was thinking it was Cocci???? cant spell it but you know what I'm talking about. But no blood in the poo and the eyes, so I'm really not sure.

I have been treating with Corid and an eye cream that I got from the vet for another chicken that had gotten into a fight and injured his eye earlier in the year. Thats not blood on her feathers, it's just her coloring.
Any help would be great. Thanks

Sounds like MG. Here are some of the symptoms they can show:

Symptoms: In Chickens & Turkeys: Ruffled feathers, fluid in eyes (small bubbles in the corners of eyes), coughing, sneezing, ‘darth vader’ breathing, gurgling / rattling, swollen face, strained crow in cockerels, drop in laying in hens, sometimes loss of appetite, sweet smelling breath.

I woke up to 3 hatched silkie chicks this morning! ;)

Very surprised though. I have a blue hen with a black roo. The 3 chicks...I have 1 Blue, 1 black and 1 partridge! !? Obviously expected blues and blacks but partridge?! Anyone explain??!!??

All the eggs are from the 1 pairing. They are in their own pen separate from everyone else. The partridge hen is in the garage with a brood and I don't have a partridge roo. Now I have seen a bit of gold or brown in only a few places on the roos hackle feathers. I mean very small...great surprise this morning but confused.
