INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I have a question, is anyone having problems with BYC when you get on the site?
I continue to get recover web page notices and locks up when I go to scroll down.
I have gotten on it from 3 different web services with high speeds and I have the same problem.
Just wondering if others are having the same problem. I have noticed it the last couple of weeks

Hi all. Im in crawfordsville, in. (45nmins nw of indy).I consider myself pretty intermet savvy but not sure if i am posting this in the right spot, lol.
Growing up, we had many far animals, including chickens. In the 80's, I was a teen and my dad had 2 of the old style redwood cabinet incubators that we hatched out chicks from our flocks eggs and sold them every spring . I had chickens myself about 10 yrs ago and am now getting ready to go again.Im moving to the house my grandma had out in the country so im excited. I asked for a tabletop incubator for my bday and have eggs in it now,,8 days left! I bought chicks, and a few ducks a few weeks ago,, also got a few adult pairs locally. Going to pick up some dark throated golden and lady amherst pheasants Saturday. I have a million questions, even tho I would probably be considered semi experienced,, lol..
I am ISO many supplies and equipment, birds, etc..but ill ask later bc this is turning into a book..
so hi and hope I didnt post where I wasnt supposed to.
This is the correct place to post! (although there is no wrong place to post!) lol that is very exciting, you are getting into the bird thing very quickly! chicken math is a killer

Managed to get behind again--so much for good intentions.

Welcome Digzs and weezerfish!

@jchny. Prayers for your parents (and you).

My birds are finally laying and I can't get anybody to help get my sportsman out of the shed--grrr! I put eggs in a styro incubator so will see what happens.

@pipd. Congrats on the Crashie egg!
Ugh, the cabinets sure are hard to move by one's self! Thanks for the prayers.

Welcome to BYC and our thread!

We have very few rules, and talk about a lot more than chickens! All that we ask is to keep discussion "family clean" per BYCs guidelines. Please jump right in and ask all the questions you need to.

! wow, he is so impressive! Tried to get a picture, of course he quit. Now waiting on the turkeys and guinea to lay. Looks like warmer weather is on the way too.

Chick Update

Not that I know anything, as these are my first chicks, but they seem to be doing really well. Temp must be right as they aren't trying to get away from the lamps and they aren't huddled. Just mill around all over. Eating and drinking like swine, everyone's behinds are staying clean, not peeping to excess.

Seems to be going textbook.

Now if the snow would go away I could get my coop built. Picking up materials Monday. Have some big ideas...we'll see if they come together...

And a thank you to everyone on the thread. You've all been very helpful during this process!!

Have the shed kit and paint for a minibarn/humongocoop. Working on getting a fence for it. If any of you have advice on that, I'm down for it. We were wanting to get some 10x6 fence panels at RK, but have no way to transport them to our house and shipping is prohibitive. Were hoping for something we could move when the time came (or in the event that we needed to bring a truck into the backyard). Costs at this point are running pretty high.

MW tom-ling attacked the lame rooster, so I brought the little roo back inside. He's shrunk even in the past couple days, so I'm not sure what's going on. Bathed him and am going to stick him back on lots of b-vitamins again. Have to figure a way to water him without him being able to spill it all over his enclosure though. Blargh. His legs seem to have even less mobility-- it's like the knees are stuck in an uncomfortably forward position. He's lost a lot of flexibility in pretty much every way--his head is forced further down, his knees are further up, and his hocks and feet are kind of curled under him. He can still kind of move every part, but his range of motion has been drastically limited.

Also, if anyone has any tips about pheasant and quail enclosures, we're starting to embark on those. Hoping to keep them together if possible.
