With pretty feathers like that you could make some beautiful crafts.
The coloring reminds me of my Bielefelder roo. He was a beauty! Do these boys have Dominique in them?

The older brother of the above pictured ones is growing some very nice tail feathers. He's now 7 1/2 months old. He holds his wings differently than all of his siblings. What type of gene do you think that is @Indyshent?

Hoping that the younger barred blonde cockerel will get along with him, or one of the others. They are growing up in the same area.

Wing carriage is one if those messy polygenic "type" traits. He does have low wing carriage, but it makes his chest look bigger Glad to see he's filling out into a proper Orp body. What a handsome dude!

I don't think you'll have any problems with multiple guys. I have 5 roosters and counting, and they've all got less docile breeds than Orp in them. I've kept nine at a time before and never had serious fights. They'll be fine. There might be spats, but they'll figure it out on their own.

Our house is rather boring, but ever since we moved here our neighbor has always decorated his house in the same way. Yes, nothing says Christmas is coming more than seeing Jesus on the roof! The neighbor on our other side had a large plastic Santa. He stood on the cement steps. (The Santa was retired a few years ago.)

Only on our street does Santa walk through the front door and Baby Jesus go up on the rooftop. DH & I have even made up our own carols about it!

After 20 years, I asked our neighbors about their reasons for the decoration placements. When in the yard, the manger used to get covered with snow drifts. By putting the manger up high, it can be seen without shoveling. (Makes sense) And now, it's just a neighborhood tradition! The Santa, on the other hand, was 4.5' tall, so it was simply too big for the roof - and our neighbor was too shaky to be on ladders.

Yes, BYCers want different things from different threads, don't they? I've been lurking on a thread where some guy posted that he wanted to talk about REAL chicken topics (presumably he meant butchering, etc.) not people painting chicken toenails. He seemed truly aggravated that people were talking about something other than the thread title on the thread. WOW! That guy probably has blood pressure issues.

Dad is a mix of mostly Orpington, RIR, and Production Red. Moms are Dominique.

I do make feathered hair accessories! Was selling at a farmers market, but the problem with setting up is that they blow all over, with even the slightest wind, and now they all have to be re-packaged before selling again.

I have to work on making more too.

Plan to set up an Etsy store, and take them out on a location to sell in-frequently.

Most roosters that I've had together end up eventually fighting. This guy pictured (I named Rainbow) was chased down recently and would have been pecked unmercifully (possibly to death) by an Ameraucana mix cockerel had I not gone out to see what was going on. I had to choose between the two.

The plan for future is to have a rooster only area, where they won't be able to see much of any hens. That area now has one rooster, a momma hen, and her cockerel.
