Our first every incubator eggs are hatching right now and I am worried about every little thing. Can someone tell me what to watch for as an indication of a problem just so I am prepared.

Best thing to do is find something to take your mind off the hatch. It's like watching water boil. There is nothing you can do to prepare for. If your temps and humidity were correct the hatch will go as planned, alittle early if too high a temp, alittle longer if the temps have been too low.

No opening the bator!! Healthy chicks hatch by themselves. Pips can take 24 hours or longer til the chick zips out of the shell. The need time to rest, finish absorbing their yolk sac and fluff up. Usually a day before they are up and running in the brooder box.
