Hey! Sorry, it's been a minute since I've checked on this thread. My hens went broody which lead to about a month of no eggs. We are now back on track and have even added some new bloodlines since then.

Hi, how do these chickens get along with standard chickens? Would you recommend housing them separately?

Also how do they do with dogs? I have three dogs that do not bother my chickens (in fact they share the chickens' afternoon snack of mealworms), but occasionally a neighbor's dog may happen by; will these chickens, when grown, chase a stray dog or peck it? (That would be glorious, if so; I can imagine said dog fleeing in terror, never to return!)

It can be a hit or miss, but generally if you have them mixed with other breeds and free ranging, they are fine. If you coop them up together, they are guaranteed to bully the other chickens. Hens are somewhat bigger bullies than the roosters.

I've never had run-ins with dogs, so I am unsure of that! I would think and Indio would try to run away unless it become a life or death situation; they really are gentle giants if given the space, only resorting to fighting/bullying when they don't have adequate space.
