Why does bunny even need the cage? Would The play pen be fine without it? She hops in and out but at night I close due to keep her in cage but I don’t know why?

Ok that makes sense. Thanks!A cage is to keep them secure. Your pen is plastic and your bunny may eventually chew through it. We used to routinely leave a rabbit out in a secure run. As long as they can't escape, and nothing can get them, than no, they don't need an actual cage. You do need to be careful they don't start going to the bathroom on the floor. That smell never leaves.
