Since one of my silkie hens is being aggressive to my other silkie hens with babies, I'm separating her for a few weeks. I was thinking of keeping her indoors with me for awhile, and let her out a lot during the day. She's really my favorite girl, so I think it would be fun.

I need some tips on keeping her inside for awhile. I have a medium sized dog crate, I'm thinking I could use it. Maybe put some card board around the edges to hold some wood shavings inside. Wish I had one of those chicken diapers now, so I could let her hang out inside a lot for the next little while.

Any tips to make this go smoothly?

It sounds like a partaaaaay! Oh, spending time inside w/ yer fav...and a silkie, what could be better! Are you sure you didn't invent this issue just so you could do this?

She may miss her buddies so you'll have to chat w/ her.

Then again, if she's outdoors a lot she won't be cramped or bored so maybe it's unnecessary to keep her entertained inside.

Ive ordered from this gal who is a member here and makes chicken diapers and after placing my order my diapers were delivered within a few days. They were very well made and the woman who owns the business was above and beyond helpful with me and my order.
I would suggest to buy some and then you can let your silkie out and run around with you for the remainder of the time she is indoors plus youll have diapers on hand if you ever need to put one of your chickens indoors again.
