Does anyone have chickens indoors other than baby chicks in cages?
If you do, please post a pic of your set up!
I would love to know about this in case i ever get caught. I refuse to give up my Peeps!

A lot of Malaysians keep Seramas indoors. I dont have an indoor chicken, but I do have a few parrots. I think that you would need the smallest chicken possible(serama) and a cage that is a bit more horizontally spacious than a parrot cage as parrots inhabit there space more 3 dimensionally than chickens do.

I have kept serama and OE in the house for winter, the serama becouse there was a fellow who wanted to buy him and i said NO but he didn't want it to be no, and 1 of my OE roosters almost died becouse of the cold. they sayed in the basement in a window with out any trouble, just be prepared for a crowing roo at 3 o'clock in the morning

My DH actually asked me to find out if we could get leashes for ours. This is a HUGE change from two months ago when he said I was crazy for wanting chickens.

Do they make chicken leashes????

If so, I'd say we're on our way to having house chickens.

there are two types of harnesses when you hold it up it looks like an H, there is also one that looks like an 8, with the 8 style the piece that holds the center of the harness is movable and can chock your bird, where with the H style there are 2 buckles so the center doesn't move and is more adjustable

I Love your set up "LCRT". I have a silkie roo(Big Daddy) and a self blue D'uccle(Silver Bells) who is an itty bitty thing but he has started crowing and now it is at any time of the day. I am afraid the creep across the street might report me, so I am seriously thinking of putting him in the bunny's playroom. They grew up with my rabbit and now my rabbit is acting depressed since the chicks were moved outside. So he would be happy. This might be my option to save him. I love him dearly and don't want to give him up.

Would they be depressed being moved away from the girls?
And also, can the 2 roos live in the same cage if it was large enough?
If they went out for field trips to be with the girls would the girls allow it or would the pecking order start again?

Have you seen nic cube rabbit condos? I was thinking about making a huge cage and they are very cheep to make. Great idea for large cages for any animal and soft on the wallet.

Ayone else with photos?

Thanks for all the replies!!

Keep them coming!!
