Indoors to outdoors in super heat: transition options?

Do you think it's worth shutting the AC vent and keeping the windows open during the day to help them get used to it? Or maybe increasing the temperature a few degrees every day? Or would that just cause them needless stress/panting?

Or should I introduce them to the coop by taking them out there a few hours more each day (then back to the AC afterward) until they're out there all day?
Either of those ideas sounds fine to me.

You could also combine them: block the AC vent in their room, and also take them outside each day.

Run's not quite safe for them yet, so I'm keeping the windows open and increasing the temp by a degree or so every day. Two of them were panting at 86 degrees F, but the rest seemed fine. It breaks my heart to see it, but I think it'll be better than dumping them out without any prep.

I'm a little confused how you are "increasing the temp by a degree or so every day."

If you have the window open, I would expect the temperature to go up in the day and back down at night, which is what the outdoor temperature naturally does too. That also means if they are panting in the hottest part of the day, they get a bit of a break when it cools down at night, before they have to deal with the heat again the next day.

Oh, I'm not keeping it hot all day. I'm just increasing the max temperature inside by one degree every day (so like a max of 86 one day, 87 the next, 88 the day after that, and so on until it reaches the outdoor temperature). I'm doing this by leaving the windows open until it goes beyond that day's max temperature then shutting them and turning on the AC until it cools back down to the max temperature. Then the room just naturally cools off as it cools off outside.

Ah, that makes sense.
It sounds like it should work pretty well.
