I lost a dog to Congestive Heart Failure. It is so hard to watch them suffer with that. So sorry!

I'm very sorry to read about Oscar. I recently had to let go of the lovely boy in my avatar, Ben. It is a very difficult process to go through.

I know what that is like, I lost a dog at 11 years of age to heart failure. He went to the vet twice a year for checkups. AND he never mentioned it or maybe didn't discover till the dog was beyond help.

His daughter made it to 14 (she wasn't the effervescent type like her father) I think that's why she lived longer. The vet knew her background and yet with her frequent checkups, he never noticed anything till the end.

A major reason I got out of dogs was not being able to find truly competent vets.
