Inexpensive cameras

So to confirm, you don't need to be connected to the same wireless network as the cameras in order to view them? You were able to view them on your phone while you were traveling?

Yeah, I read some of the Amazon reviews and it seems pretty legit overall. The main concerns seem to be that they upload your videos and motion alert video clips to the cloud (the camera offers a rolling 14 days of free video storage for you to look back on), and that some smart techie folks have some concerns since the data sometimes seems to flow outside the US before ending up on the US Amazon cloud servers. China is one of the places they are seeing the data flow sometimes, and as you might imagine, having videos from inside your house being sent overseas concerns some privacy conscious people.

Now, who cares if the Chinese military can see my chickens roosting, but do I want them seeing my living room? I can see why some are concerned. Haha. I might pick one of these up for my coop. Maybe one pointed at the run.

I guess I confused 'not broadcasting online' with not being on the 'cloud'.
See, prior tech savvy computer user is a total mobile device luddite:lol:.
It's all greek to me and brain too tired to learn new software that I don't absolutely have to.
Ah, I haven't been that clear about it. You can't access a link online to watch live feed, you can only access the live feed from within the app.
The "events" it records reside in the cloud, and you access those from the app as well.
