inexpensive coop design

I was surfing around and found this cool dome design. Very strong yet uses little framing. It uses 25 2x4's. Could be a coop or a run.

Its a strong frame, but if you used 8'-2x4's, you would have up to an 8' span on your roof sheathing. Around here we put our roof trusses on 16" centers in order to use 1/2" aspenite sheathing. If we go to 24" centers we need 1/2" plywood. How thick would we have to go with a 48" span and still support the snow load? (and how much waste would there be in each 4x8 sheet of plywood?)
Looks like a great design for summer use though.....or maybe with additional roof supports
