We found a chicken egg under our staircase from the wild chickens in neighborhood. I hatched it in a warming box we do not own an incubator. I helped the chick reading lots of scary stuff about it drying out and suffocating. Now I have a real issue I think. I need advice not to be scolded.

Maybe it just needs time to rest and dry off. Keep it warm.

You mentioned that you helped it get out right? Because of that I think that all he needs is some more time to rest and absorb the rest of his yolk. As you can see it looks like he still has some. Hopefully after that he will be up and going!

Still wet looking, should be dry... got a hair drier or space heater? This takes a gentle touch, warm but not hot. Shows a tiny bit of yolk sac, that should shrink as it's absorbed. Chicks want to stay warm, like 95f warm so if it seems lethargic or cheeps continuously try to keep it warmer.
