Infected/Broken Toe: What to do?

@Eggcessive Thank you for the advice. I use Valbazen when we have a worm outbreak, and it's saved a number of hens, even from the brink of death. As for the bugs, I'll see what I can do with all of that. I recently heard that wood ash could be used on pests such as lice and mites, so I might try some of that before resorting to chemicals.

The hen with the injured toe, I checked it out further, and I'm almost 100% positive she can't feel it. I poked around it and massaged it with some warm Epsom Salt water, and she didn't react. She sure loves standing in the warm water, though! But the toe is still connected by a big ugly wound that I managed to clean out some, so there's no way to get it off without hurting her, so I'll keep cleaning it and wait and see.

No, they're pretty bad when it comes to "bath time"!

Yeah, mine always stay far away from everything but drinking water.

Anyways, her toe is definitely dead and should fall off within the week, I think. I haven't tried to take it off because I don't want to start anything I can't stop, plus it would be bad for the poor hen. I got all of the crusty gunk left from the mites off, and her feet are now soft and scaleless, so that's fixing up nice, at least.

Update: Hen's toe is almost gone, her scale mites are healing up, and she's overall much happier. She now sticks with her box buddy I gave her since I didn't want her to get lonely (plus it drives them to eat if they have competition) and she isn't limping anymore.
