No predators that I'm aware of, they have been in the run & coop. We make sure of it to keep them safe as they are still so small. We haven't seen any holes like something has tried to get in either. All of our chicks are about 7-8 weeks old, so we don't know for sure if we have roosters yet. And we haven't seen them really peck at each other, just chase each other around if one has something the other wants. To me it looks kind of like puss, but I'm not sure. Thank you for the info! We will try your suggestions. The green skin looks like bruising. Do you see any pus or swelling/redness that might be infection? If not, I would use some Vetericyn wound spray or some plain neosporin ointment on it. If infected, clean with a little betadine or Hibiclens and water first. Was it caused by a rooster's spur, or pecking? Any predators around?
Not that I have seen.Have other chickens pecked at the spot?
