Fowl pox is a virus from mosquitoes. It lasts about 3 weeks, and most chickens recover from it. The dry form causes brown scabs on the comb, wattles, and face. The wet form can cause yellow patches inside the beak, throat and airway, which may make it hard to eat and drink, or to breathe.

Canker is a foul-smelling protozoan disease carried by pigeons. It can make carriers of the whole flock. Metronidazole which can be found online as FishZole can treat canker.
